I’m applying EDII :)

I think that you have a higher chance than you do with regular decision (in ED2) but keep in mind you are pitted against all those Ivy rejects.

Hey guys. Another member of '17. Let me know if you need any advice or help!

hello! Nice to meet you!! Do you think they send all of the notifications about CW in one day? It seems like they have not touched my region at all, however, people who were invited already do some kind of assignments for CW.@HangingOnStars

@Rose777 It seems like they have sent out the invites at different times in previous years. I sure hope they do again this year, because I didn’t get an invite yesterday!

@HangingOnStars finally somebody! i just a wanted to know if they are looking for passionate and dedicated students focusing on one single area or well rounded people?

Hi guys! Glad to see you all here.
I also applied for ED1 and didnt hear anything back about CW.
Did anybody?

I hope so too! Let me know if any of you is invited during this week.

@Rose777 Nice to meet you as well. No, the invitations are sent out over a few days (~3), and yes- depending on the region. However, if it has been more than 5 or 6 days, I regret to say that you will probably not be invited.
@21styoungster It really depends. NYUAD isn’t really looking for a particular type of student. You’ll find people who are really passionate and sure about what they want to do, and others who are completely lost. As long as you are an interesting, dedicated, and overall “great” applicant, you’ll stand a chance. Honestly, there isn’t some sort of formula for getting in.

they started to send invites this saturday. so no invites this sunday since it’s day off. thank you for responce!!@HangingOnStars

Hey all :)

I also am a freshman here at NYUAD and still grateful for the help on this page here last year. So please feel free to ask any questions and send me messages, I am excited to help you out and hopefully get to know you soon!

^ Hehehe :)

@Rose777 No problem! The very best of luck to you guys.

I will apply ED2 but what happens if you one of the lucky ones and you’re invited to CW but at the date given you have your national school leaving examinations? Are you put in the RD pool?

@21styoungster I don’t think so. There were two students who applied ED 2 last year and, due to visa issues, they had to attend the RD weekend. However, they were still considered as part of the ED 2 pool as they got the admission decision at the same time ED 2 students did.

I received the invitation last night, but I don’t think they’ve already sent out all the invitations.

@febsvt Congrats!
When did you submit your application. Because some people have a theory that invites are sent based on when you applied. Still waiting for an invite here!

@Lachie777
I submitted my application way before 11/1…probably about a week.
Wish you luck!

@febsvt Thanks, really calmed me down, haha!

Hey guys, I’m applying Early Decision II. However, I’m struggling with the counselor, because he is not an employee of my former High School.
Well, my former High School is getting restructured and many things have changed there, such as principal and teachers. Hopefully a teacher that has worked with me in a extracurricular project stills teaching there, and she is writing my recommendation letter.

And I’ve found this on the Common App’s Help Center, which gave me more hope: “If you don’t have a counselor because you’ve been out of school for a while, you can enter the contact information for the individual who will be sending the transcript, even if that individual is not a counselor. You may need to contact your high school for this information.”

My counselor has contacted with my High School and they already provided the necessary documents to him. However, I’m afraid that the fact that my counselor is not an employee of my former High School will count as a negative point.
