NYU Abu Dhabi

Ok guys, I’ve received emails from plenty of NYUAD applicants, and that’s great! I honestly enjoy helping (or trying to help :stuck_out_tongue: ) each and every one of you!
However, I really advise you to be active on this thread, CC has really helped me during the whole application process, overcoming the stress and all :stuck_out_tongue: You can’t even imagine how communicating with people going through the same process as you can help, and the amazing support you’ll find (abudhabi-mama, I’m looking at you, thank you!!!).

I totally agree! A lot of you have such great knowledge and know the ins and outs of NYU AD. It’s unfortunate I found out about this website as I am finishing up my application now.

Wish everyone the best of luck!

Hello everyone! I am in the process of apply to NYUAD, and let me just say that this thread has been soo helpful…I definitely agree with StefanZweig.

I know that a lot of acceptance letters and/or CW invites have been sent out recently or will be sent out very soon, so if anyone who has already applied wouldn’t mind sharing their acceptance/rejection experience along with their stats, that would be very much appreciated.

Congrats to anyone who has been accepted, and best of luck to all!!! (:

Well, thank you Stefan! I’m so happy you were accepted. And I do think you are right - this is a great forum to shake, share and shiver for all those who are applying, and especially those who are thinking about it. This is not a school for people who want to have a clear educational path in the classical sense. It is an incredible opportunity for those who are willing to stretch out into the world - and make it better.

Has everyone been getting the pamphlets from NYU AD? I have gotten two and it just makes me more tempted to get accepted!

Yes I have too. I applied to both NYU and NYU Abu Dhabi. Visited the NY campus and it is beautiful! I applied regular decision to both schools and was wondering from any past candidates, if considered, when would a regular applicant hear from NYU AD about the candidate weekend? (like when would it come in the mail, b/c I know there are a few more dates left)?? Thanks

@ yardog, i also got two pamphlets some weeks ago and i applied ED11 but I do not know when the candidate weekend is? Is there anyone in the house who applied ED11? let’s talk about chances cos am on tension nw and I really need some advice here though I already have admission as the best undergraduate student into a top tier University in my home country (FUT, Minna). All my dream is to get to NYUAD and amidst prayers and others, I will get a CW invitation!

FUT means Federal University of Technology, Minna. I am to study Telecommunications Engineering there but still xpectin NYUAD in good hope!

Please, any NYUAD ED11 applicant in this thread???

I am an EDII applicant as well. I called NYU AD, and the lady at the desk (very nice) said that EDII applicants find out about Candidate Weekend late next week or the week after. To my understanding, NYU AD CW February 2011 was from the 3rd to the 6th, so it could possibly be the same week as well this year. Not too sure though.

Hi, I am also an ED II applicant. And thanks yardog for the information regarding the candidate weekend. Hope we will meet each other in February… :)

Guys, a simple search on NYUAD’s website and you’ll find all the dates :)

Candidate Weekend dates for the 2011–2012 application cycle are as follows:

December 8-11, 2011
January 26-29, 2012
February 16-19, 2012
March 1-4, 2012

Right you are Stefan - and it says quite clearly that EDII applicants could receive an invitation to Jan or Feb - that is a long time to be nervous wrecks - dial it down a notch ok?

I am another applicant… I don’t know… everything on my app seems good, save for my low sat 1 score of 2090. I don’t know how much that will cost me…

By the way, anybody knows if any person from Pakistan got into NYU AD early decision? Because that would really slim my chances.

Everybody’s got slim chances here! I also had a low score in the SAT1 but I think Nigerians use thier WAEC result there and I had straight nine (9) distinctions in all my subjects! The tension will be there. Pray we meet ourselves during CW!

@ yardog! which country are u from please?

I am originally Palestinian but I have been living in Canada since I was three years old.

Does anyone know when the deadline for the cw invitations is going to be?

I do not think there should be any dead line for cw. the only thing’s there are two cw arrangements for ED11 applicants and one for RD applicants. That’s all. If you are not invited, then u shuld be sure of not gettin an admission. SAD to say. But yet still, xpectin to meet u guys in Abu Dhabi in the nxt few weeks! LOL

@hopefultree, are you also an ED11 applicant?
