I have 3.5 GPA B’s in all A-Levels and ECA is good enough! Do I have a chance and yeah hoping to get just above 2000 in SAT (just hoping)!
any suggestion and yeah an international candidate also!</p>
<p>Finished a few supplement essays, wrapping up the rest. Trying to get on with the nomination essay and Common App essay.
As for the rest of the app, I have completed it.</p>

@HangingOnStars You’re still working on the nomination essay? I thought the deadline for EDI was October 1st? Or are you going for EDII or just RD? </p>
<p>I actually wrote my nomination essay on something completely unrelated to my intended major but it was something I found wholly interesting; I’d suggest to do the same. Just go for something that genuinely interests you about the UAE. You’ll be able to write about it better than if you were to choose a topic that you think the admissions officers want to read.</p>
<p>Yeah, I’m applying ED 2 because of the delay of my school forms (school is in process of updating format or transcripts and whatnot).</p>
<p>Going to finish the nomination essay by next week hopefully. Have a vague idea in mind. I’ll just take it from there and see where it goes :)</p>

I am just a step away from having my Common Application finished. I’ve noticed you keep saying, “Nomination Essay”. Is that just another way of saying Personal Essay or what?</p>
<p>Hello, and good luck! No, the nomination essay is something else. Some school counselors select top students to be nominated, which is basically like an extra and even more significant recommendation.</p>
<p>@hangingonstars, so if I’m applying independently. does that require absolutely no nomination essay?</p>
<p>Also, Does applying independently lower my chances?</p>
<p>I don’t know much about applying independently to be honest.
From what I do know, a nomination is not required for anyone applying. It’s just a boost, if the option is available to you.</p>
<p>I have applied as Early Decision, got my School forms sent, finished the Common Application and Supplement, got recommendation letters, evaluation, paid the application fee, validated my passport and Applied for support through CSS.</p>
<p>Question is - Now What?
How do I know they received all that? When will I know if I have been invited to a candidate weekend? How will they contact me? Email? Cell Phone?</p>
<p>Is anyone interested in applying to NYU SHanghai, to the offer just as much as AD financially? Does anyone know and hopefully this means less NYUAD applicants lol</p>

<p>So I am about to submit my ED 1 App tomorrow, so I can enter in my new SAT scores in time and what not. Such a nerve wracking process but man oh man do I love the concept of this school!!! </p>
<p>Hopefully they will be sending me some sort of notification that they have received all my paper work, transcripts, etc.
Btw, anyone know anything about figuring out whether they received that or not?</p>

<p>@twostepsfromit I just sent my application on Wednesday! It was pretty scary, haha. Under the “My Colleges” section of the Common App, it should say whether or not the application has been downloaded. Mine got downloaded the same day. </p>
