Also jayjayxo if you don’t mind me asking what did you choose to write your nomination essay on? And what are your stats?
Hope you don’t mind i am just inquisitive as to what they are looking for:)

Okay, so has everyone already received invitation? ((

@quadjo: The deadline was November 1st, so they are still reviewing all of our apps I believe. I think a lot of ppl sent their apps on the last week/days before the deadline and it’s impossible for the adcoms to review all of those in one day right? I hope so anyways. Normally they should get back to us this month before the 5th December candidate’s weekend.
@jayjayxoxo: Impressive!!

Good luck everyone! I’ll be applying RD… Do RD applicants have Candidate’s Weekend, too?

@andreaval Yes, Regular Decision applicants have a Candidate Weekend as well! The website mentions that “Regular Decision Candidate Weekend invitees should expect to travel before April 1”. Good luck.
@quadjo Well obviously they haven’t invited everyone yet, haha. She got hers (I’m assuming it’s a her) the day of the deadline!
@abrarskii Someone recently told me that you cannot submit any SAT scores past the deadline. BUT if you receive your score on January 1st, you can quickly enter it and send it off before the deadline’s up! Hope everything goes well for you. Good luck.

If any of you are religious, please pray for the Hurricane Sandy victims and the NYU community at large. I recently read on NYU Local that a few members of their staff lost their homes. I know we’re all anxious and awaiting our possible Candidate Weekend invitations, but let’s all try our best to be patient and pass along positive energy to anyone affected.

Thank you for being so kind! I am actually in NJ have not had power or heat or any other utilities since last sunday so keep us in your prayers!
I am just worried about the SATs does everyone need to have a 2400 to get accepted are there any average scores like in the 2000 or 2100’s. Thanks

All of the reps I’ve talked to said they were working with mostly perfect scores, but I’m sure it varies. It’s only one small part of the application, and that’s not all they take into account when making decisions.
If Ivy League schools SAT range is like 2100-2400 NYUAD’s must be similar.

Hey Everyone!
I love NYUAD… How much does NYUAD weight like family life and background? For instance I wasn’t able to do certain things because I come from a low income family and also had to take care of a disabled parent.

@abrarskii I’m so sorry to hear that. Just have faith! I lived in America myself during Hurricane Katrina. The way the nation put aside their differences and worked towards the same goal of rebuilding warmed my heart. I’ll pray for you and your family. It’ll get better, I promise. And regarding your SAT I (I personally didn’t take the SATs), a score of 2100 and above should be able to establish you as a strong academic candidate. Good luck, and keep us updated on everything.
@Traveler13 How is your academic standing? Which country are you from? I think the great thing about NYU Abu Dhabi, as @andreaval mentioned above you, is that they aren’t only focusing on one thing. They look at academic standing, extracurricular activities, essays, standardized testing, etc. I think that if you’re a strong academic candidate and you have the ability to tell your life story accurately, intelligently, and genuinely through your essays, you have a very good chance. Every University aims to have people from all walks of life. Good luck! :)

@FrancaiseLove I live in the USA. I am not sure if NYUAD looks at 9-12 grades or just 10 and 11 grades but the majority of my grades are A. Do you go to NYUAD? if so do you like it? Why or why not?

@jayjayxoxo You said that all the people being considered will be emailed by the day after the application deadline? I got an email from NYUAD Admissions, which is in New York, saying they’ve been out of power for the past week, and so they will get to the applications later than expected.

I honestly hope that what you said isn’t true, because I sent in my application on October 31st :O

Well, best of luck to all you NYUAD applicants. My sister is currently attending NYUAD, and she says its AMAZING. :)

@Traveler13 They look at all your grades from grades 9-12, and you should send your first term grades from 12th grade. Your grades seem fine!
Can anyone tell me exactly how much they consider standardized test scores though? My scores aren’t exactly the best, but in my region they’re considered quite good. On the other hand, I maintained a 4.0 GPA all through my years in high school. Will that do me any good?
Idk, I feel like my chances are weakened by my scores.

I know I just posted, but I have a few questions about NYUAD admissions.
First of all, I got nominated (along with the same cute emails that some of you guys got), I sent in my Common Application/Supplement/School Forms/SAT/ACT on October 31st.

The Common App tells me that my application was downloaded, but I don’t know if NYUAD has received everything from me (though it may be just a tad bit too late if anything went horribly wrong at this point). I heard rumors that you get student codes, and you log in to the NYUAD home page to check your hollistic status.
Is there any validity to this rumor?

Oh, and one more thing; all of you ED-I applicants out there other than jayjayxoxo, have any of you guys received your Candidate Weekend Invitations yet? I’m slouching towards bedlam waiting for a reply (or no reply, for that matter).

hey) so you are going to CW?
I got my code to the website. There is shown what is missing/comlete. It also shows status of your application - mine is Undecided. If you did not get the code i think you should wrute to admissions. I guess that they just forgot to send to you one.

I’ve applied ED too, and now im waiting for an invitation ahhhhh ^^

Wait guys, I’m a bit confused here. What code exactly are talking about. Are you supposed to receive it my email? Those who got it, please explain further, thanks:)

we are talking about NETID to acess to Albert. When you submit your application you receive the login to the NYU student portal (after some time because admissions create it for you).

@TuttiFruttii okay I see.

So all the EDIers, who submitted their commonapps day(s) before the 1st of november, did you get any sort of email from the NYUAD yet? Or should we expect to hear from them in a week or so?

Man, I am freaking out here. I sent the application on October 31st, as aforementioned. I received an email yesterday morning from NYUAD admissions regarding my fee waiver request. It read that Hurricane Sandy caused a week-long loss of power, and so they will be getting to them as soon as possible.

I did not receive any NYU Student Portal code.

@TuttiFrutti, when did you send in your application? And when were you given the portal ID?

I have not got my code yet. I submitted my application on october 30. When i suppose to receive it?

Hey guys I submitted my App on 30th october but whats up with this code thing? How many of you got it
