NYU Abu Dhabi

“The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is processing your application. Below you will see the credentials we expect to process for your application and the processing status of each item. Credentials submitted to our office satisfy the application requirements for both NYU New York and NYU Abu Dhabi programs if you have applied for both. Please be aware that while items may be in our office, it may take several weeks before credentials are actually processed and reflected on the checklist.”

I feel like we’re not acknowledging the fact that it’s completely normal for a few boxes not to be checked as “complete”. And also, Hurricane Sandy set back the New York Office of Admissions by a whole week. So please, calm down and contact them sometime next week if it’s not received. Mine are all ticked, but then again, I sent them on October 24th.

What about the Standardized testing box, I am not planning to submit any. Should I just leave it all as it is?

@AsemZh

Asem, it’s a requirement by NYU Abu Dhabi, that a form of standardised testing is required - be it SAT Reasoning, ACT or an approved national standardised test. You have to submit this for your application to be valid. ILY.

@Daveyyy Thanks for replying, I have applied with my IB predicted scores, so all the info about that is in the common app (school forms section), my counselor submitted the reports. This is a bit confusing though.

@AsemZh

Yeah, so the IB score counts as your standardised score ! :slight_smile:
best of luck!

what score are you predicted if you don’t mind me asking?

@Daveyyy Riiight, it will be filled up by my final scores with time. Thank you:) And as for the predicted score, i don’t mind you asking at all, its just that I don’t see a point in sharing it online for particular reasons.
Anyway, best of luck to you too. To all of us really.

So, where is everyone here from guys?

Anyone received invitation yet?

@GujBaroda

One of my friends Rakesh called up NYU Office of Admissions in Abu Dhabi and they seemed to believe that they haven’t been released yet, but the last invitations will be out at the end of next week.

Hey guys, so for the high school transcript section of the Albert Application Status, is it just talking about what my guidance counselor sends in via the Common Application (in the School Forms section)? or am I required to send in a separate one?
I feel like I’ve already sent enough emails to the NYUAD AdCom that they’ll think I’m some seriously annoying kid. (Which, I don’t believe myself to be)

@Daveyyy: Thanks

Well goodluck to all…!!

@unfathomable You don’t have to submit anything separate. Your transcript is what your counselor sent through the Common App.

Hi people! I am applying to NYUAD as well. I am from Ukraine but I live in India.
Just completed writing my essays.
How are things going on for you people?

hey guys :slight_smile:

just thought id share…
so SAT scores are looked at, but they’re not a deal-breaker. meaning, if your SAT score isnt perfect, ITS OKAY. I would say 2100 and above is a good goal to keep on that front.
Grades matter, but the courses you’ve taken matter more. if you’re taking the toughest classes your school offers and you’re still maintaining a 4.0 GPA, thats excellent. therefore, academic rigor is good as long as it is coupled with good grades.
i know it seems like every college says that SAT scores are only a part of the admissions process, blah blah blah, but at NYUAD its true. they’re looking for the whole package.
obviously, this isnt to intimidate anyone, its always to better to take a shot and apply!
i can answer other questions too if needed.

:)

@christinaspirit Welcome! Ukrainian living in India? Sounds interesting. I’m doing well, just nervous about CW invitations at the moment. Good luck. :)

@boss7266 Thanks for all the advice! So I’m guessing you’re an NYUAD student at the moment? What class? I bet you love it! :)

@FrancaiseLove, good guess! Although if you had told me I’d be here a year ago, I would never believe you. Im a freshman, and yeah I do love it. It really ended up being the right decision for me and I’m so glad I can even say that!

Well that’s really awesome. Pretty inspirational too. :slight_smile: Congratulations! So where are you from? And did you apply ED1 last year? I know some people got their invitations on the 22nd of November but I’m wondering if anyone got it before then. I’m pretty much a nervous wreck, haha.

@FrancaiseLove Who isn’t a nervous wreck right now? (Unless you have 2400’s and a 5.0 GPA and have designed a rocket ship to travel to the moon and back like Daveyy said) :P

@boss7266 Thanks for taking the time to come into College Confidential. I know that not everyone really likes to relive the nightmare of college admissions again, even as a spectator. May I ask where you are from and which admissions you applied for (ED I, ED II, RD)?

I heard from my sister who also happens to be a freshman at NYUAD that, generally, nominated ED I students have a higher chance of acceptance. Is this true for your case?

Im from the US. Sorry I cant help you guys with ED, I was a RD, and I was at the LAST CW haha. I wasn’t nominated, I applied out of my own volition :)

@boss7266 Hi bro! Will you know when the admission officers will start sending out invitations? When the admission officers start sending them first round, could you inform us in this thread?

Hello guys, How to apply for CSS profile fee waiver?
