NYU Abu Dhabi

Crap I’m rethinking the essay now :S modernization of healthcare maybe?? Application of traditional medical remedies in the UAE?

no, no diabetes is a very serious topic and perfectly suiting the task, since you can connect it to your self (volunteering, future plans)

I’ll keep it as a backup I suppose. In the mean time I’ll try to conjure one up on traditional emirati remedies and the modernization of healthcare. Dude I really appreciate ur help honestly  thank u so much :)

glad to help:)

HangingOnStars Can u please tell me if u were nominated or not? also is this essay thing for those who were not nominated??

I havent applied yet I’m applying ED 2 so I’m still finishing up my nomination  Im assuming u have to write a leadership essay if u were invited to candidate weekend. Good luck!

OMG! Your topics make me feel like a kindergarten student!!! Mine is Climatic Change Awareness in Egypt.

AsemZh were u nominated by school?

HangingOnStars Thanks for the info! btw do u know if more candidate weekend offers will be given out?

I was nominated, were you?

@HangingOnStars You’ve been active on this forum for quite a while. But unlike other members, you’ve never mentioned any other school, only NYUAD. I think that’s a testament to your passion for this institution. You really do deserve to get in judging by not only your passion, but your stats as well. Good luck to you on your journey and all the best.

@osamasayegh Good question. Well, if last year is any indication, our chances are 71 per cent. One current freshman at NYUAD was mentioned in her high school newspaper about her admission. They stated that more than a 1000 applied for ED1, while 70 were invited to Candidate Weekend, from which 50 were a part of the final class. Link below.

@rfuzzy If you were not nominated, then you need to do the leadership essay, and if you were nominated, you have the choice to write the leadership essay or just include your nomination writing instead. Your choice! I’ve looked at this thread a few times but didn’t say anything- I’ll be at the Candidate Weekend in December, too! Best of luck to everyone:)

Hello!
Two of my friends got invited to this year’s CW from 5 dec until the 7 dec. I didn’t receive an email yet, not even a rejection. NYUAD was my only choice. I’m freaking out now because I was told that they have to fill the CW forms until the 19th. Should i expect a rejection?

Don’t give up yet  I bet we have to answer so soon that in case somebody doesn’t accept their place at the CW, they can invite other people instead - so just wait for a couple more days. You have all my support :)

I was soo excited! :’(

Thank you! well, a little hope remained but honestly i dont think i will be invited atter all…
Congratulations for all who received an invitation for the cw :)

did anyone living in Pakistan receive CW invite and till when is the deadline for invites as I emailed the Admission office and they said that invites will be given between 15th to 26th.so hopeful!

I don’t know if I should change my nomination essay topic. I don’t think I have time to write another one with all that’s going on now… Is it honestly good enough? Can anyone provide me with an honest opinion?

@FrancaiseLove You are such a nice person. Unfortunately, that alone will not get me into NYUAD. I don’t feel that my stats or anything are good enough for an invite.
My SAT scores are a joke (standardized tests are my weakness) and my essay is weak. I’m not expecting anything whatsoever. And yes, it sucks, because it was my only chance of attending a great university. That’s life. I need to look elsewhere.
But congrats for all those who received an invite! You guys deserve it  And for those still waiting, don’t lose hope. They’re still sending out invites so there’s a chance!

Please help me someone as I am freaked out!!

@rfuzzy,
Honestly why would it make a difference if they did or not? It doesn’t change the admissions decision. It might sound a bit rude, but I think we should all just calm down. It will all be okay :)

No its not that, I just want to know if anyone living in Pakistan has received an invitation. If not then maybe they must be still pending. Daveyyy did u receive an invitation and what were your stats? I had 11As in O Levels and 2Aand A In A Level so just curious:)
