@Daveyyy my opinion is totally the same!
I think if there would be a decision about that you are not invited, you would have received an e-mail about it logically. Why would they wait to send it?
My situation is the following: I’m from Budapest, Hungary. I applied for EDI. with 3 others and two of them got an invitation to CW but the other 2 - including me - didn’t get any e-mail yet.
In my opinion this does not lower our chances to get invited.
I talked to a NYUAD student and she told me that as far as she knows, our admissions are checked by several addmision offices and that’s why they send out the e-mails during a few days (this means the 15th-26th period) and not at the same time.
So we should just wait and we can panic when we receive a refusal e-mail.
I was also told that one of the students who got invited has to fill in forms until the 19th. Probably this means that in the first round they invite the best ones and if someone refuses, there is a waiting list and that might be the reason why we haven’t received anything yet. What do you think?
Oh and in addition in my country there is a totally different academic system so I can’t even compare my results to yours.
Fingers crossed for us! I’d be happy to meet you there guys!

The deadline is individualized.
It is always two days after receiving the invitation.
I have a friend who received his on the 18th, and his deadline is the 20th.

So did everyone that was nominated use their nomination essay? And does it matter if it’s slightly under 500 words? (Mine was 480)
Also thank you so much to everyone on CC who’s been supportive, I really love this site You guys are awesome!

Hi !

For everyone who still did not receive an invitation for CW; there is hope!

I emailed a lady from NYUAD and she told me that they will be sending out more invitations this week.

Best of luck to everyone :)

Ingush, thank you for these good news. but when it was? I emailed Admission Office 2 days ago and they have still not answered my question. And this question is really important to me.

@quadjo

I received the information today. I emailed a lady from the admission office who helped me previously so she always writes back to me immediately (thanks god for that because they tend to take ages to replay)

Best of luck to you :)

@Ingush

Hope, this is what I need now, because I am honestly loosing mine. They have recently decided that russian national exam does not satisfy their requirements, but Outreach Officer in Russia said before that it does. And I found out it after deadline. They had not even inform us.
Sorry for that, just sharing. I am so upset and nervous.
Can you please tell me this lady’s name?

@quadjo

Ohh… Im so sorry to hear that but do not worry. It is not your fault, they will fix it. Btw Im from Poland, so we are neighbours ;)

Her name is Wendy. She is very verryy helpful.

@LizaTB, well if you use the nomination essay, your essay has to be below 500 words. Such was the instruction for nomination essays. The Candidate Weekend essay, however, is instructed to be between 500 and 600 words, but because they allow us to just copy/paste our nomination essays, we should be fine. My essay was 497 words, including a 20 word question.

well, you guys, I have like 740 words for the candidate weekend essay…
how is everybody doing? I’m sooo excited, lala : )

Hi guys! I’ve been lurking around here for a while, but finally decided to post now. So excited to see everyone from Dec 6-9!! :)

Hey quys, has someone received invitation today?

I don’t think so! :(

@Jimmy0 Welcome! Everyone that’s been invited is pretty excited. Can’t wait to meet all of you!

Oh, and my nomination essay was 515 words. #rebel Oh, and my Common App essay was 530 words. #rebel x 2 Haha. :P

And to anyone that hasn’t gotten an invite, I’ve been praying for all of you. I think someone posted earlier about an Admissions Officer saying that invitations will be sent until the 26th. Just stay positive, I’m sure it’ll come. :)

@unfathomable That’s what I thought, thanks for clarifying I think I forgot to copy my question in, but I think my essay makes sense without the question
whoops!

@FrancaiseLove Haha you are such a rebel

Good luck everyone :D

Guys, does the financial support, need blind policy entitle us to free room and board and miscallenuous expenses as well. I didn’t even know that and a fellow applicant just told me so. It got me even more anxious for CW! Is it really so?

If so, how much will my parents have to earn for me to actually pay for anything?

Hey guys,
Congratulations to those that got in and best of luck to the others still waiting.

I was nominated and applied ED but sent my application in early October, is there a chance I could be invited to an earlier Candidate weekend? Also I have some plans during the February Candidate Weekend so when should I tell them that?

Finally, how did the travel logistics work? Did you book your own flights or did they do that for you?

@osamasayegh,
I think an alumnus would be the best person to ask this from! Or get it answered on the cw.

@GlobalDolphin,
if you were nominated and you applied ed1 and in October, you should have been/will be invited to the cw in Dec. They haven’t contacted us about travel plans yet. However, they do pay as far as I know.
