NYU Class of 2019 Discussions ED1

@FredDobbs The Clive Davis people from Tisch said in their presentation that if they want you and the University doesn’t, they will go to bat for you. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. It certainly made me feel like a really strong artistic portfolio can get you over the hump. Best of luck!

I don’t feel the 12th anymore

@NYUFan101‌ me neither, but there is still this gut feeling that is telling me the 12th is still up to something hahah. Northeastern ED was supposed to hear on monday but heard yesterday, you never know…

Anyone know if students who applied get the NYU quarterly? Apparently it was sent out recently and my friend got one yesterday (he didn’t apply).

Guys people on twitter are getting acceptances already???

anyone applied to NYUSH?

what??? seriously?

@rindala‌ again, those are transfer and grad students. they hear first.

I wish Shawn Abbott would update the admissions blog. I feel like the official channels have been eerily quiet considering how close we are to game time.

@FredDobbs‌ it is immensely strange. They might be swamped, given their pushing back of the date too.

Hey guys! I applied to NYU last year, ED I, CAS. I got into LSP, accepted admission and then deferred enrollment for a year. This means I’ll be receiving my acceptance letter again at the same time you guys will receive your decisions. On that note, I wanted to share a couple things I remember from last year since I remember being in your shoes, biting my nails off.

The decision release date probably won’t change to the 12th or any other day apart from the 15th. As far as I know they tend to stick to their dates.

Decision day: I started checking my email at 12 at night hoping to see an email but didn’t get anything until 5PM EST on the dot. I remember because I was clocking in for work. I also remember the decisions came out in waves, there were a lot of rejections (at least according to the people posting last year) very early in the morning.

My FA never changed. BUT what did change and was my program. Since I applied to CAS it said CAS up to about two days before decisions came out, then it changed to LSP.

Good luck to all of you!

@andoverbigblue if you applied to CAS but get placed in GLSP your decision will no longer be binding. I was released from my ED 1 agreement.

@juanis1001‌ thank you! Will you be attending LSP next fall then? I’d love if you could give us some reasons for why you made that choice, I got the program change yesterday and was wondering whether I should go ahead with it. My original program was CAS-International Relations.

@auspicium No way! My program was (still is because you can still go ahead with an IR major even if you accept LSP) CAS-IR too. I’ll message you.

@juanis1001 - does 2016- No self-service access for this aid year. mean anything

@juanis1001‌ cheers waiting for it

@juanis1001 Considering how easy NYU makes it to defer enrollment I’ve been semi-seriously thinking about a gap year. What did you do with your time off if you don’t mind me asking?

@FredDobbs‌ @juanis1001‌ I don’t think Juanis1001 is going, or did I misunderstand the last comment he/she made?

oops, I realised the “No Way!” might have been a response to the coincidence of our 2 programs being the same!

@xinniiiye i applied to NYU Shanghai as my third campus choice…i had an interview too…in the beginning i wasn’t too keen on NYUSH but the more i read about it, the more i’d like to be accepted by that university. Good luck to you on your admissions! :)
