[]Two-year program
[]Spend first year getting LS requirements out of the way, second year getting some major/program requirements out of the way
[]Transfer into desired program/major after sophomore year
[]Still graduate in four years and with your desired degree
[]Small classes (capped at 25-35 students)
[]Focus on reading and writing w/ “great works” core (you will start with Plato and the first book written down)
[]Contrary to popular belief, you’re not looked down on
[]Not separate from the rest of NYU student body (still live around WSP, go to classes at WSP campus, no separate res hall, etc.)
[li]Not a “reject” program (we have the same stats as CAS students but different strengths)[/li][/ul]
If anyone has specific questions or would like to go more in-depth, message me. I’m a freshman in LS Core who had CAS as my first choice.
Is it odd that I didn’t get any financial aid (only a scholarship) though every other colleges I was accepted to at least gave me the federal pell grant because honestly my family has no money.
Rejected lol.
31 ACT
IB Diploma, Predicted 40-43, which is equivalent to a GPA of 3.9-3.95
Great ECs
Really good letters of recommendation
My common app essay 9/10, NYU essay 8/10
Applied to Stern but had CAS and Gallatin as option no2 and no3.
Honestly, I’m really surprised. In addition to getting rejected by NYU yesterday, I got accepted to Dartmouth and waitlisted by Harvard - so I guess I just wasn’t what they were looking for at NYU.
Hey guysss! I can’t view my fa yet but which alternative is better? Syracuse university bioengineering program with full tuition scholarship or NYU engineering (hopefully with some fa). Thank you so much! An answer would be very much appreciated.
Accepted! But probably won’t be going, still NYU used to be my dream school and it’s an honor to know I’ve been accepted! Accepted to the Core Program in Liberal Studies. International Student and 2030 SAT
still no news from NYU. already emailed them about it I think the email may not have reached me 'cause I have a .cn or Chinese email. some others in my school using .cn emails have the same problem ;;
SAT: 2140
GPA: 3.8
Extracurricular: Volleyball team for 4 years, Model UN for 2 years (secretary for 1), Art Club, Creative Writing Club, Treasurer of Red Cross sector at my school, did a bunch of volunteer work (one of them involved going out of country!)
One of my letters of rec was from a previous NYU graduate, and then I had five more letters. Not sure about how my common app and NYU essay would be rated, but yeah.
Thanks @hkajs1
Son is also very inclined toward UIUC - the only problem is that he did not get his first choice CSEngg. He got MechEngg which is also a very competitive major but he wants to study computers. He says he is willing to work hard and apply for a transfer after first year.
So, UIUC it is I guess. Thanks again for your reply! Sometimes, just getting a reassurance that you are on the right track really helps!
Accepted CAS! Not sure if I should post my stats here but Whateves
GPA: 3.81 ACT: 32
Ethnicity: Asian female
I think my essays were pretty good. Talked about why I really like NYU.
Idk if I’ll go, the price is a huge turn off
For future applicants in the last days before decisions release looking for clues, any clues, to try to figure if you got in or not…my kid got in to NYUAD with full ride but his housing portal still shows non renewable undergrad and only offers summer 2016 to sign up for housing.
