Probably an internal transfer…
According to LSP FAQ:
Core Program students who are in good academic standing, who have completed a minimum of 64 credits, and who meet specific program requirements in their prospective major or school have the opportunity to transition directly to degree programs in these NYU schools:
Arts and Science (College of Arts and Science; Liberal Studies)
College of Nursing
Gallatin School of Individualized Study
School of Professional Studies (specific programs)
Silver School of Social Work
Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development (specific liberal arts programs)
Tandon School of Engineering (specific liberal arts programs)
Core Program students who meet the above requirements may also apply for internal transfer to the following colleges and degree programs at NYU. Application and/or additional materials (e.g. audition, portfolio) will be reviewed for admission to:
Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development (Music and Performing Arts; Art and Art Professions)
Stern School of Business
Tandon School of Engineering
Tisch School of the Arts
Can you do pre-med after completing LSP?
@ whoever was talking about Columbia vs. NYU - I’d also choose Columbia in a heartbeat if I got in. Columbia is just that much more prestigious and academically proficient. Yeah sure Columbia is uptown, but downtown is literally a subway ride away, it’s not like you’re out in the woods somewhere.
Do you think if I applied with LSP as my first choice, I have a good shot despite my uncompetitive test scores and gpa (29 and 3.87)??? My “Why NYU” essay was all about the program, and how it will benefit me.
just got axed from gw so I really need gw to pull through or I’m gonna be stuck at a crappy state school :((
@aznboi4981 I’m pretty sure a 3.87 is above the LSP average and a 29 ACT is in NYU’s range of accepted scores
@aznboi4981 those are pretty good stats for LSP. i have a 1920 SAT and 3.95 UW gpa and LSP is my 2nd choice (after the MCC major at steinhardt) so i hope we both at least get accepted to that. also, if it’s your first choice that means you show a lot of interest, meaning you’ll probably get in
but I’m also glad to say that I got into GW as a communication major! I’m not as worried about nyu anymore (my possible rejection won’t be as devastating because GW was a close 2nd for me) Still really hope NYU works out though it’s been my dream since I was, like, 10
I’m really afraid I’m not gonna get any scholarships! Nyu has been my dream school since elementary school and it would be so sad to get in but not be able to go because of money! I have around a 3.9 and a 34 act CAS so I’m not that worried about getting in but I don’t think I’ll get any scholarships and NYU is really the only school I can see myself at, except UF but again it’s too expensive! Honestly colleges just need to chill with these tuition cost like are you tryna put me in debt for the rest of my life! I feel like they’re trying to make college into some elitist spoiled paradise where only the rich can become successful! So sad!
@aznboi4981 you do
I can’t tell if a lot of people apply for MCC @ Steinhardt or if we’re just proportionally more active on this website hahaha, makes me sort of nervous but I wish you all the best of luck for Thursday! Just remember, as cheesy as it sounds, that no matter what happens college decisions don’t define you or your worth, and that you could go to a “lesser school” but still be as successful, college is what you make of it!
Does anyone know what the average GPA/SAT score is for accepted stern freshmen? I have a 2120 and a 3.8 UW… Do I have a chance?
@neta427 That appears low for Stern. form what I heard, you need to be 2250+ and 3.95+UW to have a shot.
How many people have the financial year posted in their summary?
What do my chances look like for LSP? 90.19 GPA (3.6) and a 28 ACT…I also wrote a nice essay about a conversation I had with the Dean of the LSP during the open house.
@neta427 average Stern GPA is 3.9 and SAT 1440/1600 iirc
@geiseln @bekisstressed what are your guys stats? I was waitlisted at GW but was also waitlisted at Stanford. I got into Georgetown and brown, but just wondering lol if you don’t mind
@jorjimarie 3.95 UW gpa, 4.46 W, 1920 SAT, 7 APs, tons of unique ECs (not necessarily school based, but I had a restaurant job and internship in fashion at the same time, i run/write a fashion blog, i’m in lots of honors clubs, my photography was exhibited at the high museum in atlanta, stuff like that that really demonstrate who i am). I think my essays helped (common app was about fashion blog and supplement was about photography). I really dont think the numbers have anything to do with GW this year they really focused on other things. If you got into Georgetown and brown, you should definitely get into NYU. GW was very weird this year with acceptances.
okay I got wait-listed at UChicago, American U and GW, NYU is my top and im soo nervous. I have a 27 act (ik super low) a 3.95UW and a 4.673 W ive taken 8 ap classes I interned for an Ohio senator I teach at the local parks and rec, did a summer internship on feeding inner city kids, Im varsity cheer captain, ive done cheer for 4 years and gymnastics for 3 and ive gotten awards in both all years, class president and president of 2 other clubs, im 3/438 and my NYU essay was about getting chosen to travel to Hong Kong in 5th grade as an ambassador and the global opportunities NYU has, i applied LSP and my common app essay was about fixing the problem of education inequality…I had my hopes up for all of these other schools so Idk if i should have them up for NYU:((( please whats your guys opinion??
