who else is freaking out right now? I got into GW which I’ll be extremely happy at but NYU is literally my dream. I’m praying for all of us

Hey guys, I got an email that really freaked me out so if anyone can tell me what this would mean it would be great.
So I had to submit my CSS Profile and also my NCP one but I had to put in a waiver request for it since I have no idea where my dad is. This request thing has been going on for months and they kept sending it back and then asking for more documents. But anyways last Thursday I got an email from the director of financial aid telling me that as of right now my request is rejected but that -
I recently learned you will not be considered for institutional aid because we did not receive your Noncustodial PROFILE Waiver or supporting documents by our deadline. Unfortunately, a late submission or failure to provide the additional information needed to process a waiver makes it impossible for us to create a financial aid package that could include a NYU grant or scholarship. However, I want to let you know that I am authorizing my team to grant you a one-time exception to our deadline policy because we believe you had the intention to complete this process on time.
You must submit any missing documentation required to complete your Noncustodial PROFILE Waiver by April 9, 2016.
I want to impress upon you that this is a rare occurrence and one that you should not expect to be given again in the future. It is our strict policy not to award extensions but we believe that your particular situation warranted a second chance.
But decisions come out tomorrow?? Since NYU finaid is notorious for being stingy and difficult why would they put in so much effort to receive my documents?
Also the admissions blog said that they have already finalized decisions weeks ago and they only set it as April first to give the finaid office time to allocate scholarships.
I’m getting hopeful but I don’t know whether or not it’s an indication of my admission decisions ahhhh

@abcfgh1234 I dont think any of us knows what that means yet. We dont really know what the various housing changes mean this time around. I have the summer option as well as non renewable undergraduate for fall, have no idea what that means though. Best of luck!
Wait are decisions being sent out throughout the day or once 5pm hits? I know the email said evening but NYU’s admission Twitter said throughout the day
Literally stop freaking out about the housing changes and saying people got rejected. You guys know nothing about decisions and the housing changes is no indication. Just wait until tomorrow and don’t listen to clueless people on CC.

What does everyone’s FA to-do list look like? I only have 2016-2017 CSS PROFILE Received even though I sent in the FAFSA as well.

@sleepystud7383 Mine says the same. Because NYU looks at your CSS to determine aid and not FAFSA. FAFSA is just for federal grants at NYU; they don’t look at it when determining FA package.

I actually called the admissions office about a month ago because I was terrified that my FAFSA hadn’t gone through (considering my Financial Aid page looks like yours). They said that they just don’t pull FAFSA information over to Albert. But they did have mine, so I’m sure they have yours as well!
