Okay so I submitted a CSS profile and I HAVE NOT GOTTEN A CHANGE…
However, this is probably because my letter of recommendation hadn’t been received and I just got confirmation that they had it on file yesterday. So this might change!

@nero64 I hope you did speak about something else and not just “hey man what’s the release date”
No offense but if I were admission I would be pretty pissed if somebody called just to ask if I could do my job a little bit faster.
Besides I think it’s too early for them to answer if they can release it earlier or not. Even if they decided to stick to December 15th they’d notify people on their admission blog. So stay tuned.
Applying ED to NYU CAS for English!! 2270 SAT and 33 ACT…hoping for the best!
@ferrarivettel…no…i actually called with a specific question about something i thought might have not been sent by my school counselor. then actually, he said that have it all and i would find out on the 15th…to which i asked, is there a chance it might be earlier…then the firm, “NO.” So…i guess i left that part out because i figured no one else cared about my personal stuff…just the part about release date. i hear ya, i would be pissed too if someone called and asked that. all good.
@nero64 then I guess we should all expect Dec.15th then.
But again, NYU Admission Blog will notify the release date a few days ahead. Maybe they can release it earlier, or maybe the officers are having to stay at the Office until 8pm to make the 15th deadline. Either way, we are all in this together.
Yet, I’d rather wait until Christmas than to check Albert everyday for the “FA Change”. That is not how students should find out about their decisions.
@ferraivettel …agree…anxiety through the roof…and i thought i was a calm person. it’s killing me.
@ferrarivettel Why Christmas? Isn’t that on the 25th? Or were you just trying to make a point that this FA checking and rechecking was even worse than having to wait longer for a decision? Haha ~ keep your head up, at the end of the day college is really just college.
If I were perfectly honest, part of me just hopes to get admitted so I don’t have to write 8 essays over Winter break -.-
Also realized that my counselor has not yet submitted an ED agreement. Does this mean that NYU hasn’t read my application yet?
@revenientis…how did you realize that? did you check your common app or did they call…i checked mine on CA bcs someone mentioned theirs hadn’t been sent. it’s the one right thing my school actually did.
@revenientis they most definitely have not read it. I would assume that its the first thing they check before review.
@horselover7 I did ask about it a month ago and my counselor said he’d submit it as soon as possible, so I suppose I blindly trusted him. It only got submitted today after I panickedly visited the office.
@iywang sigh…I guess rejection is confirmed now. I heard somewhere that applications that are read first are more likely to be accepted.
@revenientis…i don’t think any of us really knows what goes on behind closed doors. i disagree that rejection is confirmed! you should call to make sure they received it. and…everything you ‘read’ isn’t true!
Question for all: Do you know how to find out if they even HAVE our CSS profile? Do the people in the Financial Aid office have access to EVERY APPLICANT that applies (even before they are looked at by the admissions people)…or do we need to actually talk to a financial aid counselor, which I heard is different from the people who answer the phone. When i first called they said they couldn’t find me…help?
I just noticed that in Albert, a table with “Campus Applied | New York City, Date Applied | Oct 26 2015” was recently added to my application status.
@rochester123 mine has said that since day one… not sure what it means in terms of admission …sorry, but doubt much
Me 2
btw, mine says Date Applied: 11/02/15, although i applied on the 29th of october. Im guessing that they processed my app on the second.
@rochester123 mine has said that since day one… not sure what it means in terms of admission …sorry, but doubt much
Mine has said that since admission too. I called admissions to make sure it counted towards ED1 since the deadline was 11/2. All good.
So I called NYU about the Early Agreement issue, and he told me that it WASN’T affecting my application and that it was currently being reviewed. He emailed me the form and I’m sending it, signed, over to him now. No biggie guys! Don’t stress.
