Oh my goodness guys, just wait 10 days! It’s not that far away; no need for extra anxiety. Although this FA Change might have some merit, it is by no means a guarantee, so I dont see any point in talking about it.
@nero64 did you check around 12:30 (+/- 10 minutes) when the changes came up for people without CSS (before they disappeared)? Don’t assume you didn’t get the change if you missed that tiny window! Maybe you did! And yes, there definitely was a small wave a couple days before admission. Just hope for the best
All of us ought to just carry on like every other applicant from every other college in this world (without a glitch) by waiting properly for the final decision.
Keep positive!! And most of all, just know not to put any college on a pedestal.
@iywang…thanks for the positive vibes…need that now. I’m glad you said that about the timing. Although it’s probably unlikely that mine showed up and left in the small period that I purposely stayed away from checking, I DID MISS a small time period from about 12:25-12:51 (yes, I went and checked my history this is how nuts I’m getting!)…so perhaps it showed up then. It seems like they started disappearing around 12:30. Maybe I would’ve gotten it had they not hid them…I guess that is how I have to think to stay sane until we find out. Thanks for responding. this whole ‘glitch’ knowledge makes it so much worse
To clarify, the change happened starting at about 11:40 AM EST, and ended close to 12:30 PM EST.
Apparently, at 11:40-ish, every change happened at that time. There was no reports of somebody who didn’t get the change at 11:40 but got it a few minutes minute later.
So it looks like the “FA change then reset” also happened to the RD applicants in 3/2015. They too had some applicants who had “THE” FA change and then Albert reset to the default AWARD ACCESS NOT AVAILABLE for everyone.
I have not had enough time to check out the thread to see if there was correlation with those who had the FA change then reset with acceptance/ denial results or even if FA changes ever came back. Just an FYI.
@remuwannabe link to the thread?
I can only go off of last year and the years before, but there definitely was a correlation between having the change and acceptance. EVERYONE who I know at NYU this year had the change. I do remember some kids getting the change a couple days before decision day last year. Everyone who got the change…got in. Everyone who didn’t get the change, unfortunately didn’t get in. I think it’s extremely possible that the majority of you got in. And I still believe the change is true.
@remuwannabe good catch, thanks!
Apparently the previous year applicants described it their Financial Aid Change as “off and on and then off again” after Albert was “reseted”
So it can be a little chaotic in the following 10 days.
@ferrarivettel did they eventually get in though? those who had the change before Albert was reseted?
@IABstudio it’s all a bit of a blur in that thread as decision day approaches. There were hundreds of replies just in an hour or two.
Some do report they they have FA Changes after the big wave, but only one or two separate individuals, the FA Change wasn’t reliable anymore after the “reset”
Also, they found another glitch in the NYU Housing Application System. Which isn’t available to us right now. In the last few days the changes in the housing portal and the FA changes (on and off) drove them crazy… I hope we can be spared.
So if we had the change, and then it was reverted back to the original “Award Access Not Available,” are we fine?
Mine just says “award access not available”
So based on last year’s thread, people who have their change reseted didn’t have it again until 2 hours before acceptance email.
But then again, if you have no email by noon, you’re pretty much in.
@NYUFAN1O1…do you think there is any chance that maybe i will get in despite no visualized change yet based on historical accounts, or is it just best to assume they are done and prepare for the worst? ugh.
@ferrarivettel …a little fuzzy on what you wrote…
"To clarify, the change happened starting at about 11:40 AM EST, and ended close to 12:30 PM EST.

Are you saying the first sentence is NOT true and the second is, or are you saying to clarify…this first sentence is true as is the second. It can be read different ways.
Yes, I’m grasping at straws. Just wondering if it all happened at once or if there was an interval between 11:40-12:30…which it seems is true given the posts on this thread I reread. Just trying to imagine maybe I missed it in a small block of time btwn 12:25-12:30. Doubt it, but oh well, trying not to be depressed for 10 days.
Can anyone help me please?? I am applying ED1 to Steinhardt and I am NOT applying to any sort of financial aid.(Im international) Am I supposed to get a NYU account and password where I could check my application status?? But I didn’t get this email with my application status check username…Im so nervous
Also, I found one email sent from NYU in the junk mails in my mailbox, the titile is “NYU Application Acknowledgement”. Is there anything extremely important in this email? I couldn’t download this email from the junk mailbox any longer since it has been there so long and I didn’t even notice until today… I am about to freak out… Can anyone help me? Is the application status check information all in that email? What shall I do? Will this affect my admission decision???
However, when I was sending my November SAT subject test score to NYU, the admission officer told me that they got everything they need from me to make an admission decision. Im confused…
Can anyone please help me??? Thanks guys
Someone I know who goes to NYU (class of 2019) said that she received the change (first wave) for a short period of time and then hers went back to normal. (And this was even when people continued receiving changes) It stayed like that all the way until the day of acceptances, in which it changed back. So if you have seen yours change, there’s a high chance that you may be accepted. If you haven’t seen it, it’s just better to wait until the 15th, bc like me, I never checked mine yesterday before everyone’s reset. 10 days. Start looking at other colleges meanwhile.
@nero64 what I meant was at 12:30 the change reverted back to normal, sorry for the misunderstanding.
@ayli9784 The netID and all the login information was in that email (application acknowledgement). I advise you call the admissions office asap and get that information so you can check your results on the 15th. And no. It won’t affect your admissions decision. Relax, please. Why they said they had everything already was bc the SAT 2 (subject tests) are not required and therefore you had all REQUIRED materials in on time. Again, you’re okay, relax.
