hey everyone! i’m a little late but i got accepted without ever having any indicators! just a reminder for future applicants that they really can’t tell you much!
@ahhh13 me too!
Accepted in LSP but assigned DC and want NYC…anyone know if one can petition a campus change and how? Planned to continue an internship at one of NYU’s grad schools as well as make the varsity swim team which can only be done in living in NYC. Also DC seems very small and insular for a Freshman…anyone have any experience there?
I got deferred to ED II. UGGGHHH I’ve been waiting all this time just to be deferred :-w
@enjoyinglife how do you know what campus you got assigned to?
@enjoyinglife , contact admissions, there is a way to request a change but you will only find out if you are successful after the RD round of acceptances, in May.
But also, doesn’t LSP require a year at a different campus? Even if you don’t do that in freshman year, that will still affect your swim team goals. Did you put LSP as first choice?
Thanks for the info. First choice was CAS. Priority for applying to NYU ED1 was living in NYC for studying, swimming and continuing an urban planning/transportation internship. I don’t think LSP requires a year at a different campus, yet some incoming Freshmen get assigned to one. Glad to be accepted but not happy with conditions that prevent pursuing the fundamental goals I envisioned as a Freshman at NYU.
Will be petitioning Admissions and LSP deans tomorrow.
Location was in acceptance letter.
@SJ2727 LSP doesn’t necessarily require a year at a different campus. Some LSPers spend freshman year at NYC though it is true that many are required to spend freshman year in DC, Paris, Florence or London. Some never go abroad at all (and of course, by junior year, even if they do go abroad, they are no longer LSPers.) You might be thinking of Global Liberal Studies, a four year program separate from LSP, which does require junior year abroad and also offers the option to spend freshman year abroad.
@enjoyinglife my D, an NYU student, spent a summer at NYU in DC while she was doing an internship on the Hill, so I could tell you about the location and facilities, though I imagine her experience as a summer intern would be different than a typical freshman student’s.
Hey, sorry I’m super late!

I was waitlisted at CAS for ED1. What does this mean for me? If I do get in when will I hear back?
does anyone know when acceptance letters come in the actual mail?
what were your stats?
Hey swamati - Good Luck to you! You will do great!!
BTW, did you apply to UT Austin BHP & McCombs! With your numbers and ECs- you should easily get in. Cost is not as exorbitant as NYU and do not know much about funding situation…
@helppppp4545 Waitlisted or deferred? Just want to make sure
I was waitlisted
what were your stats if you were accepted?
did anyone, or is anyone planning to, back out of the ED agreement because of financial reasons?
@nyuclassof2023 man probably me im trying to find a way to pay but it seems like its an L… nyu seems really stingy about this stuff I cant control
@ld344718 me too. i am nervous that backing out will ruin my chances of getting into other good schools
