Hi! I’m currently a freshman undergraduate in Northeastern University (Boston, ranked 39 nation-wide)… Well actually I will be a freshmen undergraduate in NEU in early September this year. I just had my high school graduation ceremony two days ago. I’m thinking about transferring to NYU as a sophomore next year, specifically, to Tisch School of the Arts Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music with emphasis on songwriting entrepreneur/music industry.

Right now my hs gpa is 3.85/4, new SAT score is 1450/1600. If I maintain a relatively good GPA in NEU (such as 3.75 or above) and participate in leaderships and miscellaneous activities actively during my freshmen year in NEU (notwithstanding these aren’t the only determining factors; my portofolio to NYU, my essay, and my recommendation letter are included as well), how likely am I to be admitted by NYU?

I know it may be too early for me to ask, but yesterday I found out that I have a friend who had mediocre performance in HS and who didn’t go to a very prestigious and competitive college was accepted by NYU and will attend NYU this summer as a sophomore. If he can do it… (no offense to my friend), can I?

what changes have you had? Also is it a long weekend in the US? I’m from Canada and I’m wondering if Monday is a holiday that may push back any decisions to later in the week? Good luck to you as well!

Decisions have been coming out only on Tuesday for a while . It might be different this week because of the holiday…but I think they will come out on Tuesday again this week.

Hey guys. I’ve already been admitted and I will most likely be attending this fall! I was wondering about housing. I haven’t deposited yet but is there a way to still submit a housing app? I heard housing isn’t guaranteed for us, so is it too late at this point? Will most of you guys be living off-campus?

@doubleS you should put down your deposit and apply for housing asap. They are still accepting applications for housing.

@OldCheermomDC So I have to deposit first before applying for housing? For some other schools I was able to apply for housing without depositing.

@doubleS you can try it and see if it will allow you to. My daughter paid first and then applied.

i called admissions a few hours ago and they said that they can’t guarantee decisions before june 1st… for those of who have a deposit deadline at other schools :frowning:

i also asked when would be the latest we’d hear back and the woman answered mid-june… (idk if this is worth anything bc admissions officers are always contradicting each other but just thought i’d share)

What are the chances of being a business major and transferring in? What would my GPA need to be? And other requirements? Also, would it be smarter to try and transfer after my freshman or sophomore year?
