NYU Fall 2017 Transfers Official Thread

Just called again. The admissions office just got the reviews from Tisch Drama itself and now admissions will begin evaluating apps and making offers. She said it should be done soon but could go into June and possibly summer depending on how many spots are available and how many students accept their offers.

Has anyone who applied to Drama heard back or received any changes on albert?

@nyuphotokid Thanks you too! When did you apply? I applied kind of late I haven’t seen any changes on my albert so I am kind of nervous but Some people get no changes and get accepted but the Financial aid change definitely seems to be an indicator of acceptance so congrats if you get in :slight_smile:

laurbear35 I applied for tisch drama and I have had some changes. what about you?

What kind of changes ? I applied to tisch drama as well.

Anyone in CAS left??

the only Albert changes that really matter is the FA change.
It will say
“awards not available”
then it’ll say
“2018 awards not available” or something similar
if you didn’t apply for FA you’ll still most likely see that update

I’m still waiting

@jasonyty12 I am :frowning:

@jasonyty12 still waiting

@justsomename I applied around early February.

What is the standard date for most of the answers to be released? Stern and CAS transfer applicant here.

@Klow7 @mpm1201 @jasonyty12 …I am still trying to wrap my head around the financial aid package I received from NYU. Its the lowest I received from all the schools I got into by a mile. I applied in September 2016.
GPA : 4.0, Associate degree at the end of this spring semester, Valedictorian, Stong Ec, Strong Reccomendations, Strong Essay…
I may be wrong but I am of the opinion that they give better aid packages to students in certain programs over others irrespective of your qualifications or acheivement. They may deem some fields as more likely to ehnacing NYU’s profile than others.NYU is truly a great world class institution but like my colleague at school who also got into NYU…its a no go for me as I cann’t afford it…and also not when I have a handfull of free rides in schools ranked higher. Hoping all you guys waiting hear back from them soon and get in. Whiles waiting, consider the possibility of very little to no aid at all when you do eventually get in.

@Chrismyke NYU’s aid is mostly need based and not merit based

@jcr556 … My EFC= 0.

@ the top schools… One normally doesnt expect merit aid…cos most students are at the top of their class…mostly need based expected.

anyone still waiting for tisch film

Im waiting for CAS and Stern, what is the generally common date or time frame that people hear back?

@dylanamo same. the admissions stated in their blog that ,“the vast majority of transfer admission decisions made by May 16 or very soon after” so idk. really hoping that they would finalize the decisions by this week tho.

@Chrismyke ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@taliashansenz Alright thanks for that update! So hopefully will hear back by tomorrow
