Those of you that applied on/near the 1st and did not submit a CSS Profile until after the 1st, did you get any Financial Aid from NYU? I don’t think I would have qualified but it’s totally messed up that the financial aid deadline is before some are even able get access to the portal. I got zero aid of any sort.
I called today and they said that they aren’t taking any appeals and that what you see is what you get in terms of aid. At my current institution, I receive about 55k in aid so NYU saying that I should take out 62k in loans a year is really blowing my mind. I also filled out the form and requested an extension on my deposit deadline because I haven’t heard from any other schools yet and they denied it. Safe to say I likely won’t be attending NYU unless I win the lottery or something, and I am more than frustrated. Wouldn’t they rather give aid so people actually attend the school and they can make money rather than many people not enrolling due to high tuition costs? Doesn’t make sense to me
@beachvibes2023 hey, this might be controversial, but i dont think they told you that you should take out 62k in loans. They are also in a financial bind and it’s not personal. The only thing they are telling you is the amount they can spare to give you.
@beachvibes2023 they suggested a similar loan option for me as well, 70K.
Okay, I’m a Tisch major. Nothing had changed on my portal/albert. Today my financial aid link changed to “Financial Aid Year 2019-2020” and “Financial Aid Year 2020-2021”. If I click on either option however, I am unable to see my cost breakdown. States “No awards to display” Is that indicative of anything?

Call the FA Office and ask for the form. They’ll email it to you.

and then it says Estimated Cost If Using All Aid Offered: $30,405
So this is a good offer?
