How are there so many Stern applicants that have been changed to member student. It seems like it can’t mean acceptance. There are so few students accepted, for most of them to be here wouldn’t make sense.
Do any admitted/committed students know what the enrollment deposit is? I can’t find it anywhere on the site and I don’t think it lets you view it until you accept the offer.

I was just asking if anyone had been rejected with the member-student status because I’ve been following this thread for a while and I personally haven’t seen it yet. So thanks for saying you have. Nothing was a lie.
Also, I don’t think admissions officers would be aware/have knowledge in this area that they would be willing to share with applicants. Plus logically they’re obviously gonna deny it has any indication of admission.

@marcocampiani3 @kingkenaz Woah dudes, let’s not build hostility cause my reply wasn’t meant to be an attack. to clarify, “But I have yet to read/hear of anyone who had “member-student” and got rejected.” appeared to me like a separate statement (basically me just scrolling thru to read bits and pieces of comments), so I wasn’t paying much attention to the prior text. and on @kingkenaz’s last statement about admission officer’s trying to hide admissions info, you’d be pretty surprised.
I got into tandon and my zoom status was member-affiliate. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t mean anything.
i got into cas and i have member-student… but yall REALLY shouldnt focus on this stuff, there’s literally no correlation big enough to focus on. youll get your decision when you get it! just check your portal every week

Hello,
I was accepted to NYU on May 1st. I already requested a Deposit Extension and it was granted due to the fact that my FAFSA was chosen for verification and that I would not receive a financial aid package for a week or so. My extension is only until the 22nd and I am still waiting to hear my admissions decision from USC. Can someone please tell me a couple of other valid excuses to request a deposit extension because I don’t want to make a payment until I hear back from all my schools (I doubt waiting to hear back from a competing school is something they would grant an extension for)

@jdambrosi Gonna be honest with you since they’ve been turning down tons of people rn for their first deposit extension, I doubt they’ll give you a second. The waitlisted people are stuck with 3 days to accept and transfers are being given a week. If anything, you’d have to use some serious made-up situation at this point. (coronavirus, financial situation, etc) Good luck though and hopefully, things work out for you!
Yeah, I figured it would come to that. I just know they consider some things valid reasons for extensions and others not I just couldn’t find the list of these reasons online. Thanks
The college might be also waiting for students to confirm if they are coming back for Sophomore or Junior year due to the situation (especially the intl students) before deciding on the transfers. Do you all know the date by which the students can drop their registered classes without a huge fine.
