yes my checklist disappeared last night
I’m starting to think that Tuesday is the new decision day for transfers as well.
Hopefully we’ll hair from them on Tuesday.
Has anyone got rejected after getting a member-student status on zoom?
I got around $6k in financial aid from NYU. In contrast, Vanderbilt gave me $60k in financial aid. NYU really expect me to take out $120k in student loans for bachelor’s degree eye… it’s quiet. say no to debt slavery. period.
Still waiting to hear back from the NYU Financial Aid office to see if my financial aid package can be looked at again in light of new circumstances, but if not… I won’t be attending. NYU is my dream school, but $120k in student loans is not worth it for a bachelor’s degree. I realize I can always move back to NYC after graduation. Good luck to everyone else! I hope you all get accepted (and receive great financial aid packages).
my checklist hasn’t disappeared but I can see the cost breakdown. I really don’t know what to make of this.
@kingkenaz these are the real questions!!!
also wondering if anyone was accepted without it
I was accepted without member-student mine only said member
@hshj123 Plenty of people have been accepted without it.
From what I’ve read, people with “member”, “member-student”, “member-affiliate”, and “member-alumni” have all been accepted.
But I have yet to read/hear of anyone who had “member-student” and got rejected.
Hey,
I noticed a portal change on albert last night, I can now see the cost of attendance breakdown. Do you guys know when the next wave of decisions might come out?
Also I am able to access the fall and spring 2020-2021 housing on the housing portal, can all applicants see this?
Hi could you pm me so i could be added please? I don’t want to post my number publicly
hi guys! I applied as an economics major in CAS, but I have not received any response… so it has come down to either Fordham or Binghamton. I’d really appreciate your help in deciding between the two! I would have to pay the same for both, and I would be an international political economy major at Fordham and an economics/political science major at Binghamton.
When is the deadline for you to decide and which campus of Fordham?
With prices being the same, look at other factors such as if you have a preference between the campuses of the two schools, the social science , etc,
hey, first time posting here but I’ve been watching for a while lol. I applied to stern and from what I’ve seen I’m assuming those who’ve also applied has yet to hear back as well. regarding any portal/application changes, my zoom was changed to member student earlier this week but my application checklist has ben gone for quite a while now (maybe a few weeks). my housing says summer 2020 (I won’t be living in nyu housing as I already live in the city) so I’m not too sure what that means. my transfer credit isn’t available and neither is my financial aid. honestly I cant tell if this lines up with any other student. is there anything I should maybe look out for or can any other stern applicant let me know what they’ve seen? if not, I guess I will continue the waiting game. good luck to you all!
@maadraad I’m not Stern but same for me with everything
@ale9953 if cost is the same I’d personally be inclined towards Fordham, partly due to being in NYC (presumably attractive to you as you applied to NYU) but also general college profile.
I’d be at the Rose Hill campus and I got guaranteed housing which is nice. I feel like I’d get more of a “typical college experience” at Bing because of the social scene since they have lots of frat parties and such, but being closer to the city is definitely a plus. I have until mid-June to commit!
nyu isn’t generous w many of its financial aid packages
I definitely agree with you…bu is offering me $71k in financial aid. nyu has been my dream school but frankly, no one should have to bear the financial burden of a six-figure student loan debt. good luck at Vandy - it’s a great school!
@ApocaIypso yo can u pm me the vandy groupme link
@kingkenaz That’s a lie. People have been rejected with the “member-student” status in the past. After speaking with an admissions officer, they weren’t even aware of the zoom status changes and claim it has no indication of admissions.
