I think (and hope) that we will get our decisions by next week. I need to leave my dorm on May 1 and I want to move immediately to New York IF I get accepted, but they’re taking soooooo long pff.
Hi! I was wondering if there was a group chat for the admitted Tisch Film Production students and if I could get added?
Also, does anyone know if you have to accept your decision and your financial aid offer in order to fully confirm your enrollment or could you just pay the deposit for now?
@larosa2 , you started posting in this thread very late so I will give you the benefit of the doubt.
I started viewing/following it in February. My application was finalized in March, my checklist disappeared in early April, and i’ve been a Member-Student since I clicked submit on my NYU application. I am a CAS - CSc applicant, and I have still received no updates regarding my application. I am a very strong candidate, especially being a Veteran and working with the school previously. I also have letters of recommendation from faculty who teach at my college and NYU concurrently.
Nothing that is happening to any of you guys is because of one reason or another, it is based on region/major/gpa/school. The only reason I know this is because I am in a group of students transferring from a local CC in NYC, and none of us have had any updates regarding FinAid/TransCredit, etc. We are all applying to different schools (Tisch, Stern, CAS, Tandon, Silver).
Your assumptions are hurting the community base of transfer students, and I really wish you wouldn’t jump to conclusions like you are. If anything, you are leading towards more people withdrawing their applications which, yes, may benefit 1 or 2 of us in getting in, but you are hurting the school you are so desperate to attend.
I have nothing against you, or anyone posting similar information that you are posting, but you guys really have got to chill. If major changes happen, such as a Transfer Credit Report going through, or hopefully any acceptances, let us know. But do not, under any circumstances, continue to post drivel stating that Student A or Student B has no chance of getting in. It hurts the conversation, and does not contribute in any meaningful way.
I know everyone here is anxious and excited. So am I. I want this more than anything i’ve wanted in a long time. Spreading disinformation is not a great way to progress this discussion in a meaningful way.
Congratulations to all the accepted students, I hope you have a reasonable way to fund your schooling!
