NYU Fall 2020 Transfer

Also don’t wanna feed the fire but a few days ago when I checked the zoom status or whatever it said member-student and today I got an email telling me to check my portal.

Accepted to Tisch!!! Yeet!! It’s been real y’all, good luck

Congrats! What program in Tisch?

Film and TV! Totally to my surprise 'cause my stats are NOT that good. I’m so grateful though!!! Thank you!

Does anyone know when Stern waitlist decisions are supposed to be released? Is it by June or July 15?

I applied to tisch but in the email they said all waitlist decisions would be finalized by July 15

Has anyone else not received a decision at all yet?

Congratulations to both of you! Are you rising sophomores or rising juniors?

For the Stern applicants that were waitlisted who was a rising junior?

I am a rising junior applying for Stern and being waitlisted

Rising sophmore.

Also, for those of us transfers who were accepted - do we get welcome packets??? Would be nice to have one, ya know?

Mind getting in touch through Messages (You’re a Junior Member on College Confidential so you should be able to send one)? I know one more committed rising sophomore and 3 is enough for a group!

I’m a rising junior

@dayindayout I think you might get one if you commit?
Today marks a week for me since I got in (deadline to commit, I won’t be going sadly) and I haven’t got anything.

Sry to hear that  What ended up being the deciding factor for u if u don’t mind me asking

@irukasensei
Well to be honest they took too long ? in my case since I got rejected from USC and UCLA film I was not expecting to get in NYU. Like, at all. So I had accepted my offer at Berkeley and I’ve already started summer classes to get a head start on finishing my degree.

Secondly the finances just won’t work out. I can’t put myself in that big of a hole. Especially if COVID changes things at NYU substantially. Online classes to me would be very beneficial, just not for a hands on type of degree.

I committed June 10…maybe I’ll just ask my advisor!

Also, sorry you didn’t get in. FinAid is friggin’ TERRIBLE so definitely saving yourself the headache of repaying loans down the road.

Will do!

I was accepted back in April and committed in May and have yet to receive anything physical from NYU. I was holding out hope, but now… not so much. I hope we do get something eventually!

Hey people, do you think NYU will reduce their tuition if they go online? Or at least consider reducing the tuition because of the pandemic? I really wanna attend, but honestly im just a middle class international student, and paying so much in addition to being in a place that’s been hit hard by the pandemic seems a bit risky to me on the financial side :frowning:
