<p>So you guys know how NYU sends invitations to admitted students, right? They have an event out in New York. Anyways, today afterschool, my grandma surprised me with an envelope. I look at it, and on the cover it said, “You are Invited!”. I nearly screamed my head off… then when I opened it, I ended up being invited to a “Junior Admissions Reception”. </p>

<li>Why the hell would they send two different invites at the same time! Ah. </li>

<p>Well, that’s my story, hahaha. I hope you guys got a little chuckle out of this. The effects college admissions could bring to one person. Just one question, is there any possibility they may have put my name on the wrong list of “invites”? Maybe that’s just me thinking positively… but, eh. Why would they do this, is my question…</p>
<p>Jimmy, I would definitely call the admissions office if I were you. NYU is a big, big place and it is inevitable that a few mistakes happen. I am sorry this happened to you, though. My D goes to NYU and I know how thrilled she was to get her Saturday in the Square (which is what they used to call it) invitation, so I can only imagine how she would have felt to see the envelope and then have it be the wrong thing. <p>Jimmy, what is a “junior admission reception”? Does it say? I am not sure I understand what that is for? Juniors interested in NYU? Can’t be juniors admitted to NYU! (well…before anyone who knows me says something…yeah, I guess my D was a junior admitted to NYU). But if you are on some mailing list for juniors, that doesn’t sound right. Why don’t you call and ask why you got that since you are a current applicant to NYU?</p>
<p>Well, this is what it specifically says: “New York University cordially invites high school juniors and their parents to attend an information session hosted by a member of the admissions staff.” Haha. So, I think it’s for juniors who are interested in NYU. It just sucks, because it was the wrong time to send it, in the midst of all these invitations being sent out. I’m going to give them a call first thing in the morning. Why am I even on the junior mailing list? Right? Hopefully, they put me on the wrong invite list… hm, we’ll see.</p>
