NYU(NY) ED1 2018 Discussion

But isn’t dawn technically before the sunrise? It’s like that transitional period in between darkness and the sunrise. Dawn probably starts at 6:40 AM.

anyone else care to trade supplements?

its 2 am - > 2 pm PST

@fuji when you log into your Fordham account you will see a merit award

@poliscisyd which account? The same one where we checked to see if we got in or not?

Well it’s predawn

@gaborik, get a chance to read what i sent u?

My supplement was essentially on how NYU’s culture and resources would give me a better shot at the future. AKA prestiged alumni, special functions, qualities I would bring that would better my education and enhance NYU’s environment. I thought it was pretty solid at the time. I’ll be open to read anyone’s if they need xD But one day left! better off just chillin

@rclvrr yeah the same one. For me I saw the award after I clicked view update under status update. It was a letter that described my award to me as well as my acceptance. Fordham also notified me in early November that I was accepted via email.

i wrote my supplement about how NYU was advantageous socially, geographically, and academically

One suggestion for whoever looks at this thread in the future and/or is going to apply RD…don’t write about New York City…like at all haha. Too many of those types of essays

care to sned me ur supplement businesgeek95?

Nah Im not gonna send mine, it’s a bit personal to be honest. Sorry rocky.

I think their essay prompts for both NYC and NYU. Don’t write too much about just NYC, but you shouldn’t leave it out either.

I think it would be foolish to leave out NYC all together

I mentioned NYC once. Of course, you probably would end up mentioning it. But I think about the thousands of applicants who will write about the uniqueness and opportunity of NYC…eh not my thing xD

They told me that they already know NYU is the best so they don’t want to be reminded, they want to know why you want to go to NYU

Right. Or how the stuff NYC relates to you and your career

@BusinessGeek95
I mean, you wrote to not mention NYC at all. How many people do you think wrote about NYU’s alumni? Its all about how you tie your supplemental in to your application.

I would rate supplement on lower end of weight though. College essay is a tad more important. Because people at bound to right the same stuff on supplement. College essay gives them more insight.
