I received it too.

This was the email @lanouba
I got an email like that from Northeastern shortly before being accepted early so maybe it is good news. However, in things like this, it’s better to be more pessimistic so I will not think about this email as being anything other than routine. I hope I have a shot at NYU, but the person above who said not to read into this is correct. Just wait it out.
I received it as well but am not going to get my hopes up, I’ve already done that too much much with UMich. I doubt I’ll be able to afford NYU anyway.
Just got that email too. I wish it meant a “likely” acceptance but I’m pretty sure they just want to check they’re not doing any extra work/making decisions that have an impact on people who already got into their ED schools. Ugh April 1st seems to far away!!!
The MLK scholar group sounds really selective, anyone know more info about it? It would be my only shot at attending NYU cuz the school is so expensive. But it seems like the chance of receiving it is really slim.
@TripleDentGum Last year they only awarded it to 80 students, mostly URM. It typically covers full tuition. It is mostly merit based but does take into consideration financial need.
From the looks of it, I think everyone got the ‘checking in’ email.
what are my chances for MLK scholar? I’m a URM, 34 ACT 4.6ish GPA, applied Stern. Assuming essays were decent (?) bc i was also accepted EA to Stanford
@GMKoon One person on the last page said they didn’t get it. And to be honest I only came on here because I got the email and wasn’t sure if it was an indication of admission. Possibly only the people who got it would come here to see what it meant and the people who didn’t get it wouldn’t bother to come here, which is why it seems that everyone here got it.
However, I may be wrong and perhaps everyone did get it
@jpgautlier I would say that you have a relatively high chance compared to everyone else here, and who are going to get admitted to stern, but that the chance is still low. Stern is by far the best school, and scholarships like that are based partly on luck and other factors, so it is almost impossible to judge the probability of you getting the award. I just think you have a better chance than the vast majority, considering you got into Stanford.
did anyone else besides that one user not get the email?? i got it.
@Rav115 You have a very good point… Very interesting…
wait you guys all click the button that said “no i do not wish to withdraw my application” right?
@rachel2021 I didnt get the email…? also thanks @Rav115 i guess its just a matter of a few days until I know!
@brookemitchell where do you see that? I don’t see that option anywhere in the email.
@brookemitchell what do you mean? You weren’t supposed to click the link unless you got admitted Early Decision somewhere.
@jpgautlier Yup. I hope they will send out some decisions early this year like last year I wish you best of luck!
@Rav115 We are not supposed to do anything right if we didn’t get accepted ED. I am confused after reading @brookemitchell 's post.
And could this be a sign for an early letter? I know I shouldn’t read into this but I can’t help
I also got the e-mail, I checked off that I wouldn’t like to withdraw my application. It’s a good point made by the person saying that they only checked the CC because they got the e-mail… but it also said they’re finalizing applications, why would they send the e-mail to you if you’re going to get denied anyway? I’m reading into it too much, I know.
