@hamstargaming not until April 1, although last year they released decisions on March 31 so they might do that again this year. The only exception is if you get accepted as an MLK scholar.

What happens if you get accepted as an MLK scholar? Do hear back earlier or later?
@SammyDKMV MLK scholars usually hear back in the middle of March. This is because they are invited to a special scholar’s weekend which I believe typically happens in early April. There are also other scholar programs at NYU but I believe you hear about those in the first week of April.
Does it mean anything if the nyu housing portal is accessible for for housing application?
@bambie17 I think pretty much everyone is able to access the housing portal. The only thing that might mean anything is what your status is under the 2017-2018 academic year but I wouldn’t even count on that. All the housing changes and financial aid changes have never been proven one way or another to be an indicator of your admission status.
@getalucy Nope not everybody. For myself and I have seen for others the page will simply not load. It doesn’t matter how many times I refresh the page it will not load at all.
@CathJR Oh, then I have absolutely no idea what that means. Everyone that I had seen could load the portal so I just assumed that everyone could.
I just got on the phone with admissions and the representative said that not everyone could access the housing and nyu classes portal but don’t depend on that for as a definite decision/good news. This is interesting…
This topic seems to be brought up every year and with ED1, ED2 and RD. Do not read into what you see on the housing portal. Best thing to do is just ignore it. you will all make yourselves crazy 8-}
NYU has stated publicly that any changes you see don’t mean anything. Best to just wait to decision day and go out and do something distracting and fun! Good luck to you all!

I did as well. I’ve read this is a routine thing many universities do so I wouldn’t read into it. Guys I know we all wants news but it’s best not to read into anything really. If it’s not good news you don’t want to set yourself up to be crushed, and if it is good news eventually then you’ll still get to be excited. Good luck to everybody!
