NYU Spring 2018 Transfer Thread

As far as housing, I plan to live off campus. I have read that this cost can be added to your financial aid package. I am coming from a community college so I have zero college debt and some savings. So I think getting into a little debt to have a good college experience in one of the greatest cities and schools in the world is a worthy investment for me. What are your thoughts?

I think it’s worth it for sure! I agree I’d like to live off campus but I really want to live with other transfers. I know university housing has an option to make a roommate group with transfers for the spring which sounds best for me. We do have an orientation but it’s only a few days before classes begin. Albert is where you should find everything but the links to do course selection should be coming in emails sent to u now that you’re admitted. As far as course overloading, it’s probably best to discuss it with your advisor bc they wont be enthusiastic if they think you’re going to burn out doing a bunch of classes and trying to settle in in nyc

Can someone give me stats of someone who was accepted as a transfer into CAS for the spring? I am looking to transfer in fall 2018.

@JohnSmith12345 my stats are on page 66

Hey guys so I got accepted to Cornell Hotel Administration and NYU Math for next semester… I am really confused on where to attend since they are so different. If anyone from this thread could give me any suggestions please let me know! Thank you!!

@nyucornell0987 u really want us to decide your future for u? Lol but I would def go for math or science, it really depends on you if u don’t know what to do just do the basic general education classes first u could always transfer. So now it comes down if u like urban environment or suburbs. I heard that NYU math is very challenging if u r good def a bright future ahead of u

@catherinesc88 Yeah I don’t think I can transfer again since I already got accepted to these schools as a transfer :frowning: I literally have no one to ask which Is why I posted here haha

@nyucornell0987 ok so personal experience. I used to want to go to business school because business just sounds so cool and people who r good in business makes a ton of money. But when I actually took the classes it’s like hell, maybe I don’t have that business talent/interest. Now I major in engineering I absolutely love it because I get to learn everything I’m curious about in life and u look at ‘how things work’ differently. If u want to major in either major think how you would be 10 years down the road. I’m pretty sure u r an excellent student to be able to get into these schools in the first place. Research a little bit about the outcome of these majors. If u do business majors u can always pursue a law degree in the future too

@catherinesc88 Yeah I think I would have to do more research and also think about what I really want, which is so hard to do during the week of finals haha… But yeah, thank you for the advice and I hope you get accepted to Nyu!! Good luck!!

Got accepted to CAS on Friday. Good luck to everyone!

@euclid1245 I love Euclid, and congratulations!

@Qetikobauri did you make it in?

As we venture into finals season, I’d like to wish everyone the best of luck! And also, if you haven’t heard back, I hope you are admitted!

@shiisbananas where do you see that we have an orientation? I didn’t find that anywhere

Hey guys I finally figured out my finances and can go to NYU!! now I can actually make that facebook group hahaha. someone reply with their facebook cauz I have to have at least one person added before I can make the group. Then ill post the link and everyone should message me and tell me they’re from the forum and ill add you!!!

Tandonians any changes?

@catherinesc88 Nothing on my end

@alyssaa96 which associates are you getting after this semester? and which major did you apply for? Your GPA could get you into a lot of schools I don’t see any reason you would be rejected.

Nothing for me either! @catherinesc88

I applied for CAS, and I still have no changes on anything. I think it is just ridiculous that NYU is making us wait this long. I rather have a rejection letter than no letter at all. Has there been any acceptance/rejections today?
