NYU Spring Transfer 2020

Nope. I applied for bio

@futuretransfer123490 applied for CAS math, didn’t hear back, but I think someone else in CAS math did

Does anyone have any info on housing?

I got accepted this afternoon for Tandon, for an engineering major. I don’t have great stats. I hope that it would give some encouragement to other people.

SAT: 1280 (Math 720, English 560), SAT 1 math (760)

Transfer from another top 30 in Massachusetts.
HS GPA: 3.8, 2nd highest rank (from public high school - always underfunded in Massachusetts) and got shut down two years ago

College GPA: 3.7 in freshman year, dropped to 2.9 in the fall of sophomore year due to personal circumstances, got back to 3.3 in the spring semester of sophomore year after a lot of works.

The only great thing I have on my application is that I am the Intel ISEF 2016 Finalist (if you ever heard of that competition). I also took a gap semester this year to improve my mental health and currently an intern at a fairly famous pharmaceutical in Boston.

If you are looking to apply for transfer to NYU, don’t be afraid. GPA never defines you. Because tbh, my GPA takes a big drop.

Admitted CAS, applied to neural science
International transfer from China, GPA 3.79, SAT waived
Exchange for one semester in Australia, GPA 4.0
3 rec letters from professors in China, Australia, and the US
Summer research experience, 2 undergraduate research projects, BIOMOD competition team member, extracurricular activities in international communication areas

I’ve been following this thread for a long time and really grateful for all the information here. I hope this could be helpful. Good luck everyone!

@Spring2020Mathhh CONGRATULATION! NYU MATH IS EXTREMELY GOOD.

When is the next wave? Most people got in today right? I’m so so so nervous

Anybody applied Tandon’s BTM program?

UPDATE:

Before I get into the update, lemme just say I’m so happy and proud of all you. Not even one reported rejection! Just acceptances raining down for so many applicants. And thank you all for listening about giving more info after your decision. So many ppl gave their stats and additional info in addition to their acceptance! This will surely help both current applicants and future applicants.

I mean it when I say Congratulations to everyone who received their news! Go create greatness for you and your legacy!

Now, for the update. And I know just like the last one on Thurs night, you all are listening which I appreciate.

Been busy today while waiting for a decision but of course I had time to make a call. Today was a BIG WAVE as I said in my last update. I was told by another but different NYU senior assistant Director of admissions, that the NEXT BIG WAVE is Friday, December 13 for all schools of NYU. And that they are trying to finish by then.

Please NOTE:

  1. This is coming from the second highest position in the admissions team (highest is the Director himself of whom is hard to reach). Last one was correct. So I would trust this one as well.

2.Some may receive decisions earlier during next week. But many/most will receive Friday the 13th.

  1. I was told they are TRYING to finish by then. Which means they may not. Based on past threads and former admissions history, I predict they won’t. Thus, the remaining, which should be a few, should be the following week and so on.

Congratulations once again!
For the rest of y’all, we in this together. Let’s continue to help each other out and future applicants. Of course, I’ll keep y’all updated of any changes for myself and any info I get.

Enjoy your night and finish this semester strong y’all!

@Spring2020Mathhh Hey, noticed you said you heard back from william and mary. was wondering when you heard back?

accepted CAS politics
I got a question can I change my major to cs since I am admitted to CAS?

Talk to your advisor after you enrolled.

@Spring2020Mathhh Does MIT Spring 2020 already release the decision?

I applied to Tandon for Biomolecular Sciences on Oct 31 as a freshman transfer
I got waitlisted EDII for fall for CAS, my grades were p good, I’m guessing it was my writing
I’m currently taking 17 credits and have some AP credits.
My midterm report looks really good and I really did put my heart into my app but I’m starting to get really worried about getting rejected again. NYU was and is my dream school
I dont know why im not hearing about many tandon acceptances, and so many cas, i thought cas acceptances were generally lower

do i nees to submit my midterm report? it seems that nyu does not ask for it. this semester 1A- 1B+ 2B.

Just heard back yestrday at 5:03 p.m. Right next to NYU. @jmin888
No but I called the office and they told me this year MIT is pretty competitive, so I just put it in my rejection list lol @meo123
