NYU Transfer Fall 2021

Decisions come out randomly almost any weekday based on this year and past years.

Interesting. Any idea how much scholarship and was this last year?

I think scholarships are different and extremely limited other schools give need based aids NYU doesn’t

Oddly enough I think I’ve seen decisions come out every day except Wednesday

i’m an internal transfer for stern, and I still haven’t heard anything.

If we still see the update application button does that mean we’ll likely not hear today?

It wasn’t a full ride but it sure helps I guess. It was in 2020.

Yeah true, I honestly think it depends on the specific school you applied to NYU. Well just have to wait and see. Because online it says everyone is automatically considered for merit for freshman and transfers.

Wow for Tisch? That’s great. I guess you never know. I wonder if they had the same message on the website last year about transfer merit money that they have this year. Any idea what program in Tisch?

I know someone who I’m pretty sure had a EFC of 0 and got no aid

From what I know their institutional aid is very limited for transfers. They have some partnerships with some of their colleges (Steindart, CAS, Meyers…etc) that may provide aid. These partnerships are often with NY Community Colleges.
Aid will most likely be federal and in the form of loans.
The only exception that I’ve seen is the Phi Theta Kappa scholarship with is open to all community college transfers if they are part of PTK.

Yeah NYU aid isn’t the greatest. If you really want to go to NYU and pay loans do it for you. If you truly love this school and believe it will help you in the long run by all means go.

I still think regardless 70K+ loans is so much because it’s undergrad but if ppl can manage then they should go for it.

Exactly. If your willing to pay that in the future, go right ahead. I live in the city and lived here my whole life so if I were to get accepted, I wouldn’t have to pay for housing which is great. But it would still be like 50k for me if I get no aid.

got accepted for stern as a freshman (will be sophmore in fall 2021) - 4.0 college GPA, 2.3 HS GPA, semi ECs (only one club and no leadership position). Wrote about flipping burgers on the grill and made a metaphor out of it

Woot congratulations! When did you get your acceptance?

two days ago. I was actually surprised because I didn’t think I would get in due to my 2.3 HS GPA. Guess McDonalds clutched for me
