Yea this definitely affects the domestic students more than the internationals since nyu was aleready need aware for them and if they didn’t want to give them aid, they would’ve rejected them aleready. But I’ve still seen some people get decent aid but they came from very low income backgrounds.
i got waitlisted for biology at CAS but for my waitlist for, I added gallatin, meyes nursing college, and liberal studies
around when are the first wave of waitlists coming and approximately how much ppl are coming off the waitlist this year?
i was also wondering, does NYU offer spring admission to most of their waitlists? how does spring admission work?

That depends on the school. Tandon, LS and Steinhardt does have spring admission but CAS probably doesn’t. I think spring admits have to take classes during the summer to catch up with the fall admits.
Yes, NYU does require spring admits to take summer classes but then in Fall they join a normal pace with the rest of the students. Also, I’ve read, if you do become a spring admit, then NYU does have great orientation days for students. A lot of past spring admits say they found friends and did not struggle socially because of the timing of their semester.
Were you an ED student? Or RD? Depending on which one, they will understand that you may not need aid. If you were an ED student, you signed a binding agreement saying you would attend NYU no matter what, even with cost. So, NYU will know that you can pay. However, on the RD side of things it may not be as clear. I would say if you’ve expressed within your letter that you will put a deposit down immediately if you were to be accepted that may send a strong enough message to let them know you have the resources for it but I am almost positive you cannot withdraw your CSS profile at this point. Did you continue and also submit your FAFSA? This is the thing that sucks about financing for college is the fact that colleges will assume that you can pay based off your income, you don’t have to tell them that you can, they will usually just assume that you can.
That’s not all the case, when I signed the ED agreement, I also applied aid. And NYU promised to meet full financial aid if I got admitted. But when you get wl, you are no longer binded by ed (even if binded by ed, if a school failed to meet your financial need when you said you need full aid to attend, the school failed the agreement first)
