Which major at tisch? I think tisch might do it by major because their all different form each other so acceptance from the waitlist could be major dependent. I believe there was a lot of tisch drama yesterday (not for certain tho)

My son heard today that he was accepted after being waitlisted. The weird thing is he wouldn’t start until Spring of 2025 and do an accelerated program through next Summer in order to be on track for graduation 2028. The letter said they are doing this in order to be able to accept more students for incoming class. It’s called the Liberal Studies Core. A rigorous 2 year curriculum that allows you to either continue in Global Liberal Studies, declare a major in College of Arts and Sciences or transition to one of the other seven colleges within NYU.
Has anyone received something similar or heard of this. Is it common? We are still in shock that he was taken off the waitlist.

there were three Tisch acceptance yesterday. one was game design and the other was film and theatre design. The other person didnt disclose.
Yeah 6 people in this thread are in the same situation as your son. He will start in spring 2025, and he’ll have to attend a summer semester to catch up with his peers who start this fall. LSC is basically 2 years of Liberal Studies, and then 2 years for whatever major he wants.
