NYU Waitlist Class of 2030 (2026)

I don’t understand the point of checking the box or not because it depends on the financial aid office’s assessment. You don’t get aid just because you ask for it. If you check requesting aid but they assess you as full pay..you’re full pay. And I will assume that if someone says they can be full pay, they are probably already assessed that way by fin aid.

Example when my kid applied to NYU everyone said “just apply for aid even if you think you don’t qualify”. So we checked the box, went through the rigmarole of fafsa and css and .. guess what, we got assessed full pay.

thank you!!!

I think, in this instance, applicants who would have previously received some form of aid are now wanting to change their status to full pay to get a better shot at acceptance. Not sure how they’ll end up paying for it, but that’s not for us to figure out I guess.

does anyone know if there was movement for steinhardt?

someone full pay got off for an educaiton major but thats all ive seen

since today is the deadline to accept for the first WL wave should we expect to see more movement today? or tomorrow

the “waves” so far for this year seem to be really small – maybe they’re doing things differently this year? or maybe the bigger waves haven’t started yet? either way, I’m not sure if they count weekends for their deadlines, and I’m still keeping an eye out for any movement on social media lol

the weekends count! those who got an offer on may 7 have until may 11 to accept

Hey! I know I’m super late but I applied RD to Tisch for drama, financial aid needed. Congrats to everyone who has gotten off!!!

welcome! you’re not that late – there was only a little movement at the end of last week, and personally I think there’ll be a lot more movement soon. good luck to you!!

Really? My moms in this Asian Reddit thing for moms, she’s telling me I should keep 0 hope and I should give up for CAS psychology (I put lax and gallatin and stein (applied psych), broke my heart when she said that and scurrently crying :heart_hands:

Thank you for keeping me updated, hopefully we all get off!!! Everyone seems like they deserve it

oh man, I’m sorry, that sucks :frowning:. I just figure that there’s only been a little movement so far (mostly for ls core, it seems) and apparently nyu had said waitlist movement wouldn’t start at all until around the middle of may – combined with the waitlist seminar mentioning the waitlist acceptance rate has been “well into the double digits” in recent years, and with them extending the rd offer acceptance deadline to the 5th…it just all seems indicative of something to me, lol. I wish we had more information since all the uncertainty makes things pretty stressful (for me, at least), but I feel like being hopeful never hurts! even though it’s a bit hard.

but either way, you deserve to be proud of yourself and excited about wherever you end up going! and I know that might be a bit hard too, because I’m sure we all really want to get into nyu right now lol. but they said that everyone on the waitlist is 100% qualified and would excel at nyu, and that’s not nothing (wish I knew why they didn’t admit us, though!). at the end of the day, I guess it is just a matter of waiting to see what happens at this point, and there’s nothing wrong with being hopeful or wanting to follow your dreams
