***Oct 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

I put “she was candid about her achievements”, but that question is heavily debated.

probably a level 5 question. the supporting details were really hard to find for that question. really wanted to skip it but I already skipped that architecture question about classification and extrapolation so I had to guess on #15. pretty sad i got the question about her coach wrong. I put idealistic. like what the heck was I thinking :frowning: of course it was unremarkable

Don’t worry… everybody does stupid things during the test. I almost put “mysterious” for that question about the coach until I came to my senses o.O

@sat2014 yes I remember putting extremely apt for that question, and it startled me because I know the CC test prep legends always say to never pick “extreme answers.” Nonetheless, I think “extremely apt” was right.

I just remembered another math question. It was like (total paraphrase) “x█n is defined as the sum of all numbers from x to n inclusive. What is -11█10?”

And the answer was -11 right?

@BassGuitar -11█10 is indeed -11. Since -a + a = 0, the sum is -11 + 0 + 0 +…+ 0, or -11.

How about the lionfish overpopulation question. Was it variegation?

@willo22‌ i think it was proliferation

Does anyone remember what the averages question that turned out to be 12.5 was?

For everybody, what SAT was this for you? Do you plan on retaking if you don’t get your desired score? What is your desired score? i need any combination of 1800+ to be :)

This is my 3rd crack, don’t really care about math or writing, but I want at least 670 for reading

This was my second time taking the SAT. I didn’t want to take it in October, but my parents wanted me to apply to colleges early to qualify for merit scholarships. I’ll be retaking it if my score is below 2200. My CR and writing scores were already decent, so it’s really crucial that I did well in math this time (but I don’t think I did).

I would of loved to of gotten a 2000 but I set my standards too low and I took the SAT too many times. Would feel nice to break that 2000+ club. Can’t dwell on past. I’m sure the Math curve was average to lenient :)

I know I come off as someone who is overly worried about their score, but looking at the larger picture, these scores barely mean anything. I’m sure we will all end up where we should and next year at this time we will laugh about this. Right now it feels like everything but after putting into perspective, it’s really nothing.

I can almost say I know three will be math curve guys there hasn’t been such a good one since March and this one was hard, and I say that as someone who is strong in math.

What about CR? overall it wasn’t hard. the choices were ambiguous. I hope it’s average. Writing was average but they should put the essay into consideration when making up the curve. The essay SUCKED for my prompt

@sat2014 I started out like you, at a 1760 but then I did a ton of practice (i found real tests online) and did about 15 of them, which helped me bring myself to the 2100-2200 range. I was at a 580 CR for a while, just do a full CR (3 sections), M (3sections) , or W (2 sections) everyday and you’ll see massive results. CR was my lowest, now I think it might be my highest at 750+ !

You can definitely break 1800! @sat2014‌

@Castigations‌ Thanks! what’s unfortunate is that one math section really hurt me. the 20 question one. I didn’t know how to do the machine one(10)wrong the coordinate shape one(11)skip the weird shape one(15)skipped the function table(16)skipped the volume one(17)wrong the percent one(18)skipped but when i look back it was so easy, and 20(area of shaded region with the radius)skipped. Had i answered half of them, I would of gotten a 600 in Math :frowning: Hope you get your 2100+! :D

Can someone summarize the all the questions discusses?
