***Oct 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

@DL43516 the square in the middle with the 4 corners.
Are we allowed to use things to test it out?! I was too afraid…

Four holes in the middle in a square and then the ones in the corners

I think that’s what i put in the end

I wish i could retake the math portion because I bombed it :frowning: really want 1800. I hope my writing and critical reading can make up for my crappy math score. Rate in order of what you think your highest to lowest sections will be.
Writing>Critical Reading>Math for me

@tryhardalay I’m in the same boat. I think I did really well on math, maybe missed 1 on writing, and missed a lot on reading. I’m really hoping I missed less than 6, but I don’t feel very well about CR at all.

Did the “from stress” question have an error or not?

That was an example of one where I was like what? This is a question 11 (or whatever)?!!

critical reading>writing>math

I would rather it be the reverse. Sat math is the bane of my existence.

@landsharkk I put that “More powerful” was the error but I’m pretty sure I’m wrong. I was panicking and I think I thought it should have been “Even more powerful than…” Idk it just sounded weird to me. idk I’m super nervous I don’t know how I’m going to wait until the 28th for scores.

@landsharkk Sadly it was E. Im hoping for a 2300+ and so I never have to see the SAT ever again.

@tryhardalay‌ where did the consensus come from?

I really hope you all get the scores you were hoping for. This torture isn’t worth it and we all worked so hard. The idea of taking the November sat is making me feel sick lol

@tryhardaIay I put E for that one, but either way, we should both be fine if we get 11-12 on the essay. I’m also hoping for a 2300+. Can’t wait to get away from the SAT’s unclear wording and ambiguous questions.

I don’t even think I can take it again, I have Subject Tests in November and the deadlines for all of my schools are like December/January so this is it for me. Although, I do have a 33 on ACT…it’s making me wonder if I should even submit SAT scores. I’m hoping for a 2150+ but even with that idk. College man

@DL43516‌ I think you can take it again. Check with your specific schools, but I think most allow you to take December even if the deadline is before then.

@icepierre well this is also my third time, and I’ve heard you aren’t “supposed” to take it more than three.

@DL43516‌ you may send only one score though, right? They won’t know how many times you took it!

Did anyone else get brilliance of the day contrasted the with the tense situation for the Iran one? >.<

The SAT: where college dreams go to die

Guys! For the one about the release of… Think about it this way… When you are released FROM jail, you are the subject and you are released, and jail is left behind. In that sentence, the stress is being emitted into the atmosphere, so to say. So the stress is going out of you and being released. In a chemical reaction, there is a RELEASE OF excess reactant, not a release from excess reactant. Here is how it should have played out:

Either RELEASE OF or RELIEF FROM

since the underlined section said RELEASE FROM, it is the error.

@maygotocollege‌ exactly. Something is being released. What? The stress. Release OF stress.
