October 2011 SAT General Discussion

HUMAN COMPLEXITY, for sure.
she wants to convey how the author had gains and losses, triumphs and failures, etc

what was the f(x) + g(x) = h(x) question? I put 0 b/c I think h(x) was in the middle. The chart was not organized alphabetically, so I could see how some people may have put 1. I just wanted to confirm the answer anyway. This one was really tricky and is now agonizing me.

hey what is the math score when you get two wrong and one omit?

Do you guys remember a writing error identification with choice D being “nowhere else”. is that grammatically correct?

and I put spy for that questoin because he says its like analyzing evidence left behind from something elusive.

1 for MINIMUM distance between points on circle

why?
it said that the radius of the first one was 5, and the center was 0,0
and the other circle had a center of 8,0 with a radius of 3 or sth
i don’t get it lol

other questions i remember were like:
sqrt. of mp = 4
(mp2) = 256
what is t to s? t^2 - 9 given s^2 - 81/ (s-9)

yeah! the chihuahan desert one?
the largest desert, home to 1000 species, found nowhere else in the world or w/e
i thought it was anywhere :SSSS

for the right cylinder surface area question did u just have to do 2pir*h 2pi(8)(20)

@alex i put nowhere else is grammatically correct.

MATH

10/10 Gridins 32/44 Multiple Choice 42/54 Overall

-1 on Math good enough for an 800? If not, I didn’t get a 2400…T.T

-1 math is unlikely to be 800

My predictions (best, worse)

Cr (0,-1) 800
M (-2,-4) 760-700
W (0, -2) 800-780

Borrowing my 760 M from last time I’ll be in good shape.

@cortana431

1 f(x)+g(x)=h(x) column

I don’t think this is correct. The question was f(x) + h(x) = g(x). Or, if I’m wrong about that, then h(x) was the middle column. But I would like somebody to confirm this if possible. Seahawks from the mathematics thread on CC also agrees that the answer is 0.

(A) ^ for that question.

The right and left column had to add up to the middle.

-2 crit is definitely going to be an 800…

What was the question for the 4000 one?

it was definitely 0, I specifically noticed that the middle column was to be the sum of the side columns; at x=0, one column was -11 and the other was 1 or something. I also noticed that when x=1 the two columns on the left added to the one on the right, and made sure not to choose that one (it was something like 2+3=5)

Yep, agree 100% with SheepGetKilled and SeaHawks

Can someone tell me the exact question for the area of shaded area, rectangle and semicircle? What values did they give you too?

wasnt the answer to triangle question a-b=70?

was the grid in question to find the surface area needed to paint everything except the roof experimental?

^ no a+b=70. You were given c=110 so 180=a+b+c -> 180=110+a+b -> a+b=70
