October 4 SAT Critical Reading

btw i agree with deadmonkey to THE HIGHEST DEGREE.

I’m sure this has been answered a million times, but could someone post the answers to the Shakespeare passage? I thought that was the hardest thing on the test. Thanks!

I’m not posting this because I think my answer’s right.

I underlined in both passages direct statements that called him a genius. When I saw the answer choice “to the highest degree”, I thought “that’s a little to extreme.” However, when I reread the underlined statements, the authors worded them to make Shakespeare sound like a “genius to the highest degree”.

for the last sentence on the 2nd passage for shakespeare, was it derisive or humorous, or is that also being debated?

i said it was derisive…

ugh, right now im sure i missed four, and that doesnt count any of the debated shakespeare questions and half of the art and half of the automobiles one.

oh please, please let me only miss 6 -__-

what do you guys think -6 will be?

and how does this cr compare to past crs?

daman i said derisive something about humorous didn’t make sense, i mean he’s being humorous but the explanation so I think that it was more sarcasm (humorously mocking) the audience.

-6 will probably be a 730-740.

I really hope I get at least a 600 on CR. x[
Passages were a bee-yotch.

For the guilds question can anyone remember what C was?
A.practical ideals
B.regression into medieval times
C.???
D.To suit the needs of the wealthy
E.Innovative approch to mass production

(i know the answer was practical ideals)

Also, for the arts/crafts question, i know the answer was common/affordable, but does anyone remember the other possible answers (because i want to make sure i didnt pick them)??

I think this CR is close toward the hard side, so I think it’s -4 = 800, or -3 = 800.

I agree 100 percent with Deadmonkey34. I finished the section early and spent 3 minutes examining this one question. Deadmonkey34 your explanation is perfect and correct. I can’t wait for the Q and A to arrive. We will be proven correct.

howabout the painting of the pipe question, are colleges “judgmental and dismissive”? or was it some other answer?

Simple and debatable.

Shifu -3 = 800? are you serious? I really hope so. I messed up horribly on the short passages T.T

what will a -9 or -10 be? Do you think a 700 is be possible? Hoping that it is because I really want to break 700.

short passages weren’t bad man, the pipe + art were killer

agreed. shakespeare too…

Why wouldn’t the college’s opinions be judgemental and dismissive? They judge that it could only be one way, and they dismissed what the author says about the paintings.

I took it last October and it was -4 = 800. I think this time is about the same difficulty. It should be around -3 to -4 = 800. My sense might be wrong though.

-4 for october 07 was a 800? then how in the world (my friend got this so im wondering) is -6 for october 07 a 740? does it jump that much in just a few questions?
