remember this is the english thread, not the reading one lol.

so did you keep the phase -to a farm-? talking about the passage with the artist and pears etc.

I picked ‘glared’… I remember being pretty confident about it.

There was one question, the one about architecture it was question two or so in the passage…

"he was chosen… , " then it was a period, comma, a semicolon and something else… I put a semi colon.

Does anyone know the question I’m talking about?

“Personal and professional stories also come across. Through certain drawings, we can place the artist at a particular church on a particular summer day, say June 30, 1636. An ink-wash shadow fixes the time: 8 a.m. Another shadow to the left has a different angle: 9 a.m. So we see him moving systematically across the page.”

was it because he started painting on june 30th

???

Can anyone find which sentence as the one before they asked if the award sentence should be added?

Woops, on the first page when I said shone, I meant “glared” haha

cgb8007, this was about the painter
comma however

stop posting reading on here people

Oh, my bad!

are you sure it’s

, however

because the two parts were two independent senteces

^ can you start a sentence with however?

did u guys put “whom” where it talks about renting

For the one with the garbage stench, which word did not fit: odor, aroma, whiff, or smell?

whiff i put

"so did you keep the phase -to a farm-? talking about the passage with the artist and pears etc. "

Anyone else? I kept it

I put aroma, because aroma is usually associated with a good smell.

the answer was definitely ‘whiff’, the other answers were just other words for ‘smell’

whiff means more like to quickly smell something, as in ‘i caught a whiff of that garbage pile’…

also, aroma can be associated with things that smell bad; ‘the aroma of garbage filled the air’
