<p>They did turn up the heat, but not sure having the windows open with inclement weather looming is on my “A” list</p>
<p>My daughter is in Boston and texted me last night about 9:00pm that it was snowing, very exciting for a South Florida girl! They are expecting more snow on Saturday, but she will be at Princeton.</p>
<p>It will be in the 70’s and 80’s this weekend in SoCal (for anyone thinking about colleges, where shorts and flip flops are in style year-round).</p>
<p>It’s just (wink) “a little frost on the pumpkin”!!!</p>
<p>Take care, all in Hudson Valley and Ct. We are here, too, visiting D for her last soccer game of the season- should be interesting. Not sure we have the right clothes to stand in that weather for 2 hours tomorrow…</p>
<p>I am sure that during the game I will thinking about hot chocolate the whole time…</p>
<p>That should be a real joy for those there for Family Weekend.</p>
<p>I just hope that the trees in your area handle the early snow better than the trees in our area handled Tuesday’s fourteen inches.</p>

<p>I just interviewed a snowplow guy who doesn’t have his plow on … doesn’t know what all the fuss is about. Maybe not the right one?</p>
<p>Yesterday afternoon we were driving high up in the Berkshires on a medium sized road, somewhat isolated. We miscalculated (we are not from the area), and as the snow started to come down and accumulate in freezing temps, we realized we were about to run out of gas!! We continued to drive a rather long way, getting pretty uncomfortable and worried, but, just in time, we came upon a lone gas station, where we filled up, and sighed with relief (both our cell phones were out of power by then, and there had been almost no signal prior to that, and we are not wearing or carrying winter clothing…)
At the gas station, we noticed a weathered hippie with a pony tail, wearing shorts and flip flops. He was being interviewed by a TV reporter with a camera-man, saying that snow is “white gold” for him, as he is a snow plow driver.</p>
<p>I felt as if I had landed in some alternate zone… Could there really be angels?
We almost drove back to see if the gas station and co. were all still there!</p>

<p>Just took the snow blower in for service; we’re just a little behind you, shellfell. DH debating whether to drive over and pick it up for use this weekend but then would need to drive it back next week. Here’s hoping it doesn’t stick to the pavement, so we can still drive down to Philly to see S2 and nephew4 on Sunday!</p>
<p>We’ve just been upgraded to 6-10 inches.</p>
<p>Just had a knock on the door from the snow plowers…“do you really want us to start in October?”</p>
<p>Inquiring minds want to know: Did they have a better plan?</p>
<p>I hope we keep power and internet. S is putting the finishing touches on ED and EA apps that were going to be submitted this weekend. I’m going to print paper copies so he can work on them without power.</p>
<p>Commasplice - you should at least get the CA main portion in if the college allows it before submitting the supplement. I would pay too if possible - just in case of power failure.</p>
<p>We’re supposed to end up with 5 inches on the ground-meanwhile the lawn guys mowed yesterday, and most of the leaves are still on the trees and have barely started to turn color. So weird. I just hope the mess is out of the way and it’s a little warmer for the Trick-or-Treaters.</p>
<p>Cnp: they are actually hoping for 50 degrees for Sunday and a quick melt…they don’t really want to have to put the plows on the trucks this early (heck, they are still landscaping)…</p>
<p>Guess only time will tell…I am actually in denial; was lying on the beach here in NJ literally 18 days ago…</p>
<p>I have a visual image of the landscaper/snowplow guy sticking his head in the snowbank, attempting to bury his head in the sand …</p>
<p>The guy I talked to today – who my husband did manage to hire – was looking greedily at the trees. Thinking that there might be a good bit of tree work after the plow work.</p>
<p>My guess is that the snow is all melted by Sunday afternoon.</p>
<p>Well…DH just finished cutting the grass. Now he’s gonna take the snowblower out of the shed and prep it. That just seems…wrong.</p>
<p>well, I am excited. We will make sure we have beer, wine, popcorn, food for indoor tailgaiting. Woot!</p>
