Off-Campus Parking

Are there any parking garages in the Charlottesville area that freshman and first year students can get 24-hour a day parking passes to during the school year?

Grand Marc on the Corner typically has spots available for non-residents. (Residents get first priority, but then mgmt. opens it up to the public.)

You sign an agreement that you will not park your car nor drive your car in the entirety of the Albemarle County and City of Charlottesville area. It is an honor code violation and breach of contract should you try to secure off grounds parking. The restriction is in place to foster first year connected-ness (it is so easy to go drive places as a first year and you will be thankful you didn’t at the end of the year when you are more… “connected”?) as well as because traffic is seriously congested with 2nd-4th years and CVille cannot handle the entire first year class with cars. I’m not sure what the plan is with Sullivan’s expansion plan. Even now, 2nd years shouldn’t have cars but there is no way to enforce that unless all 2nd years had to live on grounds still.
