Man, I did not enjoy that test at all. I locked myself in my room and studied for a week straight, did multiple practice exams, and I still wasn’t prepared for that. The multiple choice was harder than previous exams, but not insanely so. The first few questions were extremely easy and I was feeling great…but then I got into it and realized that I was pretty much screwed. And that free response…NOTHING could’ve prepared me for some of those questions. I’m hoping for a nice curve. All I need is a four, so hopefully if everyone else thinks it was that hard, then the AP graders will adjust it accordingly.

Bioboy. . . why did you leave any MCs blank?
There was no guessing penalty!

I got a lot of doubles in a row, if that helps.
I might have gotten three in a row. . . but then I might have erased it and changed it out of paranoia! oh noooo.

bioboy… look at my post on the previous page for score breakdown. to get a 5, you neeed to get between 100-150 of the 150 possible points on the test.

They should make it a rule NOT to put triples ( on ANY test anywhere). I did change one of them out of suspicion.

I’m so *ed off right now: I got 90%+ on the 2008 FRQ, while 80%+ on the 2002 FRQ. But this one today, I got ~70%, maybe even as low as 66%… What the * happened? I also got around 70% on the multiple choice… Does anyone here at all think that 66% FRQ and 70% MC will yield a five? And does anyone have a reasonable prediction for the curve? I’m hoping it’ll be around 66% (100/150), but is it possible that it could be higher because of the discarded penalty?

I’m assuming the curve will be about 100/150. Because of the extinct guessing penalty, it would probably be like 110/150, but everyone said it was hard, so I’m gonna stick to the 100/150.

the curve is gonna be higher this year with the removal of the guessing penalty.

Mordred Id say that should be good enough for a 5 but who knows.

Whats with you people and this 3 in a row stuff haha. I never even notice something like that when im testing.

What do you think the curve for a 3 will be?

I want to discuss the FRQ, but I know we can’t. Oh well, 1) was not too bad, I think I got it. 2) was hard, 3) was easy, 4) was meh, 5) was incredibly simple (it was a freebie), and 6) was meh. I can’t wait until the moment we’re allowed to discuss these.

Does anyone moderate the boards? If not I wouldnt care discussing.

GODZILLA, Usually the curve for a 3 is around 43% but it may be lower this year since so many people think they messed up the FRQ. I’m estimating 5 (60%) 4 (46%) 3 (39%) etc…

I don’t think I got more than one 3 in a row.
That’s a problem.

For some reason I couldn’t solve the last two parts of some of the free-response . . .
I guess we can have a full out discussion on Wednesday.

@monarchy:
We really shouldn’t.
Plus it’s only two days, so we can wait.

Many people do. If you do discuss, your score will be jeopardized.

1.) Incredibly easy until f and g, at which point I just started stating things that I knew would at least get me partial credit.

2.) Easiest thing on the entire test.

3.) Easy, until I screwed up the last part

4.) Didnt get all of the equations… got some of them.

5.) Somewhat easy, I think I messed up the lewis structure, but other than that it was fine, I think. Probs lost some points here and there.

6.) AHHH KAY. did not get the order, so I just chose one and did all of the questions/calculations as though it was correct. that way I wouldn’t lose nearly as many points, in fact the only point I’d be losing was for the wrong reaction order.

My rating

1) 5/5
2) 5/5
3) 5/5

4) 1/5 - completely blanked
5) 2/5 - Did well for a-c, BSed the rest
6) 1/5 - Kinda BSed, got the order wrong so B was wrong as well. oh well lol

I might have 4-6 out of order but you guys should know what i’m talking about

FRQ was like deattthhh.

How does partial credit work on this test? Do you get points for, say, writing a formula that should be used?

The questions aren’t all out of 5.

And yes, you get partial credit. So hypothetical scenario?

What is the Ka of the acid?

What is the pKa of the acid?

obviously the answer to number 2 depends on number 1. BUT if your answer for number 1 is incorrect, but you still go about number 2 the right way, you will only lose points on number 1 for making the initial mistake, the grader will follow through with your incorrect calculations and reward credit where credit is deserved

FRQs were sooooooooo hard :O

Stopped about halfway through… basically left the 2nd half blank :(

Okay, I think I messed up the last few parts b/c I was trying to get all the values from my calculator before time was called lol

Easiest of part A, but still :O

Okayish, my equations were probably wrong. I always hate this section…

EASIEST of the entire test, some points finally yayyy

Messed up the last part of this question… I just wanted to finish the test at this point though lol.

Overall… I might be lucky to get a 3. I’ve been scoring 4s on all the practices, but I thought MC was kinda hard and FRQs super hard, so a 2 is entirely possible. Hopefully a 3 though!

I wasn’t calculating my score, just rating out of 5 on how well i think i did.
