I think I got a solid 3 or 4. I got 2 triples on the mcq. And there was an ambiguous multiple choice question I may report

bioboy: SAME. I get the first few parts of each problem and then bam, they throw some ridiculous numbers and terms in and I just give up because there’s not enough time left
This was my first AP test ever, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt worse about any academic-related thing in my entire life. I did the PR tests and I thought I’d do well based off of those but they were so, so much easier. :/

I didn’t mean to leave any questions blank, I just ran out of time :(

I really hate this new “no penalty for guessing” rule. I preferred it the old way because the curve is lower…

And I don’t think it’s 100/150 to get a 5 because the test was really hard. I think it might be around 80 to get a 5…

I completely agree with you jrp1234. I did the first part of each FRQ, but since so many people did bad, hopefully the curve is large. And the PR tests were like writing the ABC’s compared to this one…I’m so mad that I didn’t get to bubble in random answers. So I didn’t take advantage of the fact that there is no penalty, AND I lose out because the curve is higher. ■■■…

Hardest AP Chem exam on record. Ugh. Can someone tell me what I probably got given this information on how I think I did:

MC: 45/75
FRQ:
1: 4
2: 2
3: 3
4: 7
5: 3
6: 3

Puggly, that’s about a 3. But considering the large curve we should have, I would say you have a 4…

The FRQs raped me.

Does your ass hurt?

Test wasn’t all that bad, mc was pretty easy with some exceptions. FRQS were ok, but i ran out of time and tried to write the great wall of china for a few parts lol. Other than That, i don’t feel too stressed bout it. Rxns i completely screwed up Oh well. I still say a 4 hopefully:) Prolly a low four though.

EDIT: went back and looked over some of the stuff in my book regarding one of the frqs and I put that as my answer, but then changed it. Gosh I hate second-guessing.

i seriously don’t think we will have a huge curve. i think they will screw us all over cause we don’t lose much points.

WELL I thought I would be fine because I had an A throughout the year. Clearly I wasn’t anticipating the difficulty of the free response. The second part of the first one hit me like a brick wall – I think that’s where my headache set in. There’s only one question of the free response section that I’m absolutely confident about.

I wanted a 5…

FRQ 4 was insane. I never thought they’d put something like that on the test. All the other FRQ’s were relatively easy, but I blanked on one or two questions. There just seemed to be a lot of things on the test this year that were so specific or odd that they don’t get covered under a normal study pattern.

stop worrying people, if you get a 80% on MC and 6 on every question, you still get a 5

lol ivycraze, u make it sound so easy xP.
at max i probably got like 20 mcq wrong. i either got alot right or a crapload of partial credit but i couldn’t get to one questionD:(the precipitate part 2A question)D:

ChickenOnRice, don’t say that! :(

Ivycraze, 6 on each FRQ? That’s wayy too high. I think I got like 4 on each…some lower. I got A’s this whole year. Chem came easy to me. I took the 2002 and 1997 exams and got a 5. This exam just screwed me so bad…

I’m surprised - I think my reaction to the exam was the exact opposite of that of everyone else.

Compared to practice tests and review, I found the multiple choice fairly easy (finished 30 minutes before time was called), and the first two free responses were also really easy. The sixth (the part with graphs), and the fifth, to a lesser extent, were the only legitimately challenging ones.

Of course, I know of at least a few dumb mistakes, but who cares about those?

Was there a 2010 thread?

I wanna see if people were also saying it was harder than usual just like this year or not, and people are just crazy.

yeah mc was easy, can someone just list the topics of the frqs? i think that would be okay since we’re not actually talking about how to solve each q.
1 equilibrium
2 mass?
3 ?
5
6
7 rate?

I thought the MC was easy finished with about 10 minutes left, so I was able to check my work. Free Response was fairly challenging. The protector called for 5 minutes left and I had just started reading question 6. =(
