*** Official AP Biology Thread 2012-2013 ***

I think there’s A SHOT I earned a 5, not a highly likely one by any means, but still a shot.

holy crap i don’t even think i’m at a 4 anymore… im actually just hoping to pass

“So to earn an AP score of 5, a student would, for example, need to answer 47 out of 58 multiple-choice and grid-in questions correctly and 31 points across the 8 free-response questions. (To earn 31 points on the free-response section, one possible combination is: 8/10, 8/10, 3/4, 3/4, 3/4, 2/3, 2/3, and 2/3.)”

I read this and I know I got most of the MC right but the free response, I’m not so sure. I may be bordering a 4/5 but hopefully I grabbed a couple points to give me that push to a 5. :)

I’m worried about free response #1
How did you guys do on it? I screwed on part b, where it asks how to improve experimental control and environmental factors.

I asked Trevor abt the composite score needed to get a 5 through Twitter, but he’s not answering me :(

The AP Biology teacher community mod. has requestes this info. from CB, that’s as far as we can get right now

There’s a low chance I got a 5, but if not, I think I may have gotten a 4.

im so scared i got a 3 now!

I walked out of there with no idea of how I had done… But I got a 5!

@zoebakk
How do you know you got a 5?

^ The seniors can tell early because it appears on their transcript.

Why do they withhold scores if its already graded?

Actually, those that have graduated probably know because the colleges have the scores and have uploaded them on their portals. The Cb is not releasing all scores right now because it’d probably crash their website. I don’t think anything is on anyones transcript right now as teachers don’t get scores until the 10th or something. (But definitely after students get to see scores.)

anyone else got their scores?

I earned a 5 as well. You have no idea how relieved I was. I doubted myself after I saw the score distributions, but then again, who wouldn’t?

I got a 4! So pleased that I’m going to get credit for it. I think I probably got pretty close to a 5, but I don’t care too much because I only needed a 4 (and I know there were some questions I completely brainfarted on).

@genetiguy: how’d you do on the grid-in and FRQ?

@darksaber21
did you answer very single question on the FRQ?

Yeah, I did, with like 2-5 minutes left. But I answered them all.

Got a 4 also…
