Official AP Chemistry Thread (2014-2015)

So the test is out of 50, and even if we get those experimental questions right, they don’t count?

Correct.

Yeah it sucks because a lot of people probably just guessed or skipped the experimental questions because they were uncomfortable with them, while the smarter people wasted time getting these experimental questions right.

@pillowspillows you can’t really make that assumption. It is fair since nobody knows what is experimental and what is not. The “not smart” kids probably spent as much time on those questions as the “smart” kids.

You can predict the ones that were experimental pretty well if you took all of the practice exams. They stand out pretty well.

@PineappleHater exactly, they tend to be the weirder and more unfamiliar questions. More people won’t understand or know the answer to experimental questions.

I didn’t find any of the multiple choice too difficult they all looked normal to me.

Which one was malleable BTW? Was the pe graph attractive or repulsive? How about the spectroscopy graph? Which element did that represent?

@dorfdude8 we can’t discuss mc.

Ok

@dasquiglyman Yes it happened to many people but don’t worry…

Bozeman saved my life for MC

Hey Guys! I checked and it seems that I did not do 2e, 2f, and 3f. However, they look vaguely familiar (I think). What will happen to my score?

i dont think 2e or 2f were even on some of the forms. I remember seeing 3f but it was very hard to see. I know for a fact that 2e and 2f weren’t there.

LOL I’m confused as to whether 2e, 2f, and 3f were actually not on the forms or whether people just missed them. This is so weird :stuck_out_tongue:

@Fox007 Sorry, I honestly think that you might have simply missed them. For CB to misprint on their booklets is already exceptionally rare. For them to have misprinted the only questions that could have been missed by students is even more extraordinary. Out of the 45 other people at my school who took the exam, none had missing questions.

I had 2e, 2f and 3f on mine so…

Would a -13 on FRQ and -12 (idk I’m just doubling the questions I know I missed so this is me being rough with myself) on MC place me at borderline 4/5, usually?

@Dorfdude8 Yeah, that’s about a 74%, so pretty borderline 4/5. However, that’s assuming the 12 you missed on FRQ were all non-experimental :stuck_out_tongue:

I got about 32/46 on FRQ and 45/60 on MC lets say. Thats less than 75% but 75% isn’t the curve, the curve isn’t yet determined, right? Also will different forms have different curves? And if we didn’t have 2e and 2f would we have different curves as well?
