Official AP Chemistry Thread (2014-2015)

Does anyone know when the makeup scores will be released? Is it with everyone else in July or will we have to wait longer?

@katterik yes. in july.

Has anyone heard anything regarding the test issue about questions missing from free response? 2e, 2f…?? Has everyone sent in their error/ambiguity forms? I was told by collegeboard that is the only way to report the problem. Students need to mail in the form.

@bookwork123 we have talked about this a million times. please look on the previous pages of the thread.

I took AP Chem this year as a sophomore. This class is quite challenging and covers a lot of content. You should be willing to put in a lot of time and effort for this class if you want to do well in it. I used the Barron’s book to review from, but it didn’t help me on the exam much. You just need to make sure that you know your content pretty well. This AP Chem exam really tests whether you conceptually understand the material, so don’t just focus on the types of questions they might ask. If you know the content well, the exam questions will not be a problem.

25 days til’ AP scores come out (for me)…I’mma cry -.-

Same

When do the Scoring Guidelines officially come out on CB?

usually a day or 2 after the test.

The Scoring Guidelines? Like the point values and the criteria for getting those points?

No, the scoring guidelines do not come out until late June/early July

@skieurope oops. yeah that’s what i meant to say. I meant to say that scoring guidelines come out after scores are received.

Anyone else here anxious for scores? I keep checking back on this thread to see if there’s any active discussion about the test in general, but yeah - curious to see what CB does about the whole “I missed two parts of a question” thing, because we would likely have heard about it by now if they decide to toss it or keep it (e.g. the whole issue with the June SAT, sections 8/9 misprint). Pretty sure it’ll still be part of the grading curve, since CB has not brought the issue up; more or less, not enough people had the issue and it was NOT a misprint, therefore it will still count.

@polarknut I think enough people had the misprint for that part not to count. I’m also anxious for scores, but since I self studied, I won’t be too depressed if I sucked XD

I just hope that the MC I know I missed were experimental haha. So in general, does everyone think form o frq’s were easier or harder than 2014 frq’s?

@Dorfdude8 I thought that the FRQs were slightly harder, but manageable. I lost like 5 points on accident due to my godforsaken burden of test anxiety.

I wonder why its taking so long to release chem distributions… Its the only non-language non-art AP that hasnt been released

“Up next: Lit”
Why is chem the last one?!

@glasshours I sense a disturbance in the College Board force. I guess there really were misprints on the FR. I don’t see any other reason why its taking so long for Chem.

2015 AP Chemistry scores: 5: 8.4%; 4: 15.2%; 3: 28.1%; 2: 25.5%; 1: 22.8%.

Surprisingly pretty happy after seeing the physics score distribution.

WAIT WHERE DID YOU GET THAT @glasshours
