has anyone heard from the computational biology program at NYU??? how about stony brook university for BME???

As for Rockefeller - I called them today and I got accepted.
Apparently they have finished reviewing the last batch of applications and will be sending notifications soon

anyone got an invite from stanford lately? or was the batch of mail sent on 28 jan all rejections?

Rejected from UCSD…

Got acceptance email from Yale today plus an offer of a generous fellowship of $5K over stipend for the first year as an incentive to join Yale.

skib325 did UCSD email you? or did you call to find out?

is it okay! to call rockefeller??? do you just ask for your status and give it to you??? over the phone???

@ arpgandau - keep calling, people are a little too laid-back sometimes at UCSD. though it did make for an awesome undergrad experience
your stats are pretty similar to mine (had a tiny bit higher major GPA), will see you at columbia
regarding scripps (i’m assuming the la jolla campus, not the jupiter one) – they’re horrible about contacting people at all; i think last year they sent out rejections sometime in march/april. but if you call them in february and they say that they’ve already sent out all the interview offers, you can figure out the rest. but then again, they don’t have an application fee so it’s not like we’re paying them to reply to us in a timely manner …

Anuszka, congratulations on your Acceptance to Rockefeller! Did you happen to know how many invites they were giving on this round?

anuszka, CONGRATULATIONS!!! ![]()
If you have been following this thread, there are several people still eagerly waiting to hear from Rockefeller - so your post just gave a lot of us some hope. :)

(sptaylor, you still waiting, too?)

funkybuddah, congrats - that’s an amazing deal and an awesome school.

Congrats to everyone else as well, we’ll all be doctoral (or master) candidates by this time next year! Is anyone else as excited about moving/ starting school as i am???

Yep, I’m still waiting on Rockefeller too…

and Scripps, UCSD and Weill Cornell!

skale_far, so which interviews DIDN’T you reject?!

You don’t get to call yourself a PhD candidate until after you pass your qualifying exam.
So when you’ll be a candidate depends on when your chosen department administers quals.

Very true, mollie!

Okay, then candidates for PhD candidacy :)

Oh, the PQE…

In my labs I have seen many a grad student FREAK OUT for an extended period of time over that thing, and then the day after they pass they’re like ‘Oh, it wasn’t that bad’. But before then, none of them wants to hear reason.

Accepted to UCLA ACCESS! What a relief… :)
