**OFFICIAL CAL POLY SLO CLASS of 2019 Regular Decision** Thread

Have any Aero transfer been accepted yet, or any Aero at all for that matter?

I’m an instate biological sciences that just got waitlisted!

@Se‌ashel

Well I don’t want to get too far afield from the topic of this thread, but-
First of all an athlete can verbally commit all they want and it has about as much staying power as the words spoken into a brisk wind. So a HS sophomore who has"committed" could change their mind tomorrow with little to no consequence other than alienating that school and coach (NOT Cool - enuf said). Athletes commit all the time and really it doesn’t mean anything UNTIL usually sometime the summer before their Senior year. In answer to your question a sophomore is not qualified (yet) to attending CP and therefore no determination or admissions pre-read can be made. Admissions, not coaches, determine potential eligibility for admission in consultation with specific departments. CP is mindful of a student’s ability to succeed at their university. As an example I know of an athlete that was no longer pursued because s/he had a GPA of 2.85 and was interested in majoring in biology - determined to be to low for success in that major.

@aero88 there is a search function down by the page numbers. You can search all 112 pages for your topic. Good Luck!

Anyone hear if they got accepted today? Keeping up hope!

D was waitlisted today for biological science. Decent stats, and was offered a Regents scholarship at UCI. Just find it rather ironic :confused:

I applied early decision for computer science and didn’t make it. other people are now finding out for CS and I still have no determnination.
:frowning:

What are my chances with a 4.21 gpa and 1400 Sat (740 reading, 660 math)?

I searched. No one seems to really talk about Aero

Has anyone that wants to be a teacher been accepted into the Liberal Arts major?

@willthisdo, if you are still in the “Poly is a CSU” paradigm, I get the irony. Times however have changed. Biology at CP is on par with the most competitive admissions of ANY major at ANY CU or CSU. The chances are roughly the same as getting an ME slot at Berkeley or Poly, 15% give or take. It is extremely competitive.

@eyemgh I have no misconceptions about SLO’s competitiveness- I was rejected from there, and my grades were the reason. My kid runs circles around me, academically (particularly in the AP Calc AB and BC area), and her EC background is very strong. I can’t help but feel disappointed when I see acceptances with lower stats in many different majors, that’s all. Non-academic bonus points makes it feel frustrating when you don’t qualify for those. She will be an excellent student wherever she decides to attend.

Is anyone starting to hear if they got wait listed?? If so, which majors?? Interested in Ag-Food Science still haven’t heard anything…

@SantaClarita‌ Bio applicants received noticed of being waitlisted today.

Are you getting your acceptances via email or through your portal?

@Teachermom48‌
Through the portal. Got updated at 2ish today and an email will be on the way

Thanks!!

@willthisdo, I completely understand. It’s objective, but is it fair? The thing is, everyone does it to one degree or another. CP is just one of the few that is transparent about it. I have no doubt she’ll shine where ever she lands!

Was your update a wait list or acceptance??

Looking for any physics responses? I saw two earlier but they were way back around 2/14. Anyone else?

Transparent ??? Really?? This entire process is ANYTHING BUT transparent. Not that anyone ever said it would be. It’s Admissions…CalPoly’s admission process is THE WORST I’ve seen or experienced.
