Does anyone know at least what times approximately that decisions are released? Are they completely random or is there a set time like 1:30 or 5:30 PST for it?
Not sure when decisions are released - it would be good to know. Are they done with acceptances at this point?

Haven’t seen any comp engineers for the last few days but that is somewhat across the board for all majors… keep your hopes up -
College confidential really is the worst ace to be this month. Just know that everyone will find their place. Obsessively checking portals isn’t going to make it any more bearable, and after taking a break from this site for a few days, I feel less stressed.
i agree with @stressed4lyfe, I think it’d be easier to wait till mid-march to start checking because right now people get their hopes up every acceptance post and then get them down again when there’s no news. (even though im still here checking anxiously for my friend heh). I think a check once every friday would be good for mental health, but constantly checking thread for updates is no good since the admissions is a little wonky and there’s updates at random times.

Have they started or finished releasing decisions for econ? I’ve seen a few posts on here but not many.
Good question. Have been checking my portal every day for Econ…and nothing. At this point I was just waiting for a waitlist (unlikely to get in via waitlist) or a flat out rejection…that would almost be a relief.
I agree. At this point rejection seems better than waiting. It seems so cruel to drag this out and let the hopes of many be shattered.
Calpoly admissions website says and sets expectation that “applicants should be notified of cal poly’s decision at the time listed below… Fall qtr regular decision -April 1st”.
So it seems weird that some people keep saying how cruel it is for cal poly to start releasing decisions earlier than that.
@5nonnegotiables. The issue is that the website says April 1, but the reality is that most of the applicants begin hearing in mid-February. When my D1 was accepted in 2012, it was sometime between the 2nd and 3rd week of February. We didn’t know of anyone that was accepted to any of their majors outside that original timeline. There may be a few more acceptances trickling out, but not likely. This system leaves a large batch of hopeful students twisting in the wind for 6 weeks. Most schools, once they release decisions, release them all at once. Everyone learns at the same time whether they were accepted or rejected, or whether they are being offered a spot on the waitlist. This isn’t a school with a rolling admissions system, therefore they shouldn’t release results as if they are.
Why do you think top colleges in the nation release all decisions on the same day at a specific time? *-
Because they have their act together and are considerate of the students.Not sure why they say April 1st when they finish March 1st or so, but this overall procedure and leaving students hanging for weeks has been the same for years.
