**OFFICIAL CAL POLY SLO CLASS of 2020 Regular Decision** Thread

And MCA about 4700 if that is helpful to anyone

Admitted today for computer science.
CSU GPA: 4.35
SAT: 1900
MCA: around 4300 (If I did that right)
I’m in-state. Good luck to those still waiting! :-*

Hey guys I’m hearing a lot of “MCA” citing, but I’ve never actually heard about what it is, could someone explain what it is and how it’s calculated?

ooooh getting nervous. I don’t think that all of the engineering acceptances are out, I saw people get in with 4500 and people who are still waiting with well over that. post #605 someone said her son was accepted into civil engineering with a 4362. That’s what I’m holding on to as hope because I applied civil and my MCA is like a 4380. oh the anxiety, its right on the wire I feel for me.

Is In-State Bio out yet?? Someone pls answer this I’m getting very anxious…

Are all out of state decisions being sent out? Or are they sending it out by alphabetical order of the colleges?

If it helps I’m a transfer that has been admitted already. City and regional planning. Just to give an idea on where the selections are happening.

Political science
2100 SAT (1450 w/o writing)
32 ACT
3.62 CP GPA
Plus extra semesters of math, leadership roles, lots of work hours and extracurricular hours

@MUNRunner look for the pinned thread on the main cal poly page. It’s called something like “Confused about the MCA”. One of the last pages has the whole algorithm.

Which colleges, if any, haven’t been released yet? If all of them have been released, I still have hope since there’s like a week left

@travisscott90210 yes. Accepted - in state Bio. The portal showed last Thursday but no email yet.

Well, I had lost all hope when I realized I missed out on the 200 point bonus for 4 years lab science because I put two of the years in “electives.” Admissions doesn’t count electives towards the bonus points… That brought my MCA from 4700 to 4500 ME OOS. Now, from what I’m reading, I don’t know. I’m mostly resigned to not getting in, but you never know. I’ve been looking more seriously at my (less expensive) alternatives. Good luck everyone! It’s so great to see that some of you who have been going crazy got accepted. Enjoy!

I got in for business with a 3.59 GPA and a 30 ACT. Really great extra curriculars. I know the ECs may not matter but whatever

Not many golden Cal Poly tickets left. Better search Pismo beach before they are all gone

I am the one that posted Civil Engineering MCA 4362 for my son. I double-checked the calculation since it seemed to be low. We missed one year of lab science in our calculation. So it should be 4462. Still should bring hope to many who are still waiting. Compared to last year’s posts, I don’t think they have posted all acceptances by a long shot.

@ucirvineisdream Are you in state or OOS?

Wow so one Physics applicant got in like 3 days ago already…

I guess I should give up now…
