**OFFICIAL CAL POLY SLO CLASS of 2020 Regular Decision** Thread

UCI is posting acceptances I believe. Cal Poly Pomona seems to be learn by doing in the same way SLO is so probably the next best thing although UCLA is great too

We knew that Cal Poly SLO would be a long shot, so not surprised if S gets denied. Happy to report he was accepted to San Jose State for mechanical engineering, and got a likely letter from UC Riverside. Still waiting on CP Pomona, the UCs, and Santa Clara. Good luck, everyone!

@Baylorpoly Wait ALREADY? Shoot I don’t think I’ve even set up my Irvine portal yet

I don’t think my daughter has been checking her UC portals either. She is so much more chill than I am about this whole thing…saying she’ll end up in the best place for her. I need take a lesson from her.

UCI are only sending e-mails to those with high stats and admittance with campuswide honor

Oh it’s only for honors, never mind lol! Yeah I haven’t really bothered with UCs since I know my chances are loooow. I kinda wish my parents were into college stuff (I have done everything 100% on my own in regards to college prep and applying etc everything) but at the same time I’m glad they don’t know about any of this.

For others deciding between CPP and long beach, let me know which you chose and why because I’m stuck

I’ve gotten accepted to San Jose, San Francisco, and CPP for political science, and unofficial acceptance to UC Riverside. Knew that SLO was a bit of a long shot for me but still holding out hope!

accepted
gpa:3.73 CSU GPA
SAT: 1210/1600
major: anthropology

Still have yet to seen one industrial engineer from anywhere say they have been accepted. Is this reason to be optimistic?

@momofE My friend was accepted into industrial engineering yesterday (instate).

anyone with computer science?

Cal Poly has moved on to transfers for today and tomorrow

@flamin - Are you majoring in graphics/design/etc? Long Beach is better known for design & art fields. Not sure where you are coming from, but both schools are heavily commuter. Long Beach has more students, so more may stick around on weekends and it probably has more of a social scene. Have you been to CPP–it’s nice…an oasis in the city (cows, fields—you know right away that CPP is a relative of CPSLO). Depends, if you haven’t visited you should, they are not far from one another.

@kwbn12 I was accepted for computer science yesterday.

@livpaigeca I got the unofficial acceptance too as did some of my friends, but I don’t know why I even applied there (or UCSC for that matter.)

@casa2274 For both schools I was accepted for Apparel Merchandising and Management (though the name is a bit different at LB). That’s what I’m afraid of, I don’t want to go to a commuter school. I live all the way up in the bay so living with my parents is not an option lol, and I’m not even going to bother to check the rent rates in LA lol. I like the way CPP sounds! Near the city but has a freaking farm on the campus (wayyyy cool in my book.) I think if I don’t get into CPSLO by the end of this month, I will make a hurried visit to CPP and LB in early March and commit based on that.

@wandersaur Do you know any stats on your friend? thanks for the info.

Materials Engineers? Any of you kids know a friend accepted to MatE?

I applied early admission and they pushed me into regular decision. I have not received a rejection, so should I still have hope? My major was microbiology.

@casa2274 CPP is most similar to CPSLO, in my opinion…but we haven’t done the visit yet. My son was invited for a visit, lunch, tour of engineering…that’ll make him feel great(I hope). Farm on campus sounds great. He isn’t aware that CPSLO is already in midst of accepting…and he thinks that is his #1. I hope CPP wins him. UC’s are not hands-on so not as attractive… (again, mom opinion)

No transfers seem to have been accepted to my major yet so eh maybe I have a chance
