So I’ve heard, through this site, that one person was accepted to Industrial Engineering yesterday. But it sounds like all the majors people are mentioning have acceptances rolling out over the course of several days. Is that wrong? And if there is a rejection, does that appear on your student portal or do you not know until you get a physical letter in the mail? So many questions when it’s one of your kid’s top choices – so thank you!
Rejections are posted last on the portal and you get no physical letter in the mail.
@flamin - Personally, I think LB is the way to go for your major. It has a strong program, that will draw people from far away, rather than just local commuters (LB beat all cal states for applications this yr). Do some more research on the two programs before you make a decision. Just another thought, are you more interested in graphic communication / CPSLO or fashion merchandising /CPP & LB, they are very different. If you would prefer FM over GC you should not even consider SLO (it’s not that fashionable…).
FWIW, UCR Political Science is very good. Given the choices, I’d choose UCR.
@flaminhaute I’m keeping my eye out on you cause I have a friend who has freakishly similar stats to you (maybe slightly higher?) who applied as a Graphic Communications major. He was deferred from ed and hasn’t heard back yet if that makes you feel any better… Best of luck to you!
The same thing happened to my brother. We’re still waiting to hear back. Good luck!
All the action today was on the transfer thread and since they notify in the same order next week and the 29th on email of acceptance, I would not anticipate a many more first time freshman acceptances. Hope I am wrong but just trying to be a realist. [-O<
Agreed @Baylorpoly Good luck to everyone!! I believe we will all end up at the perfect place for each of us.
found out on tuesday
in state
@nachosbob Let your friend know that I spoke with someone the other day with a fairly low GPA and SAT score (3.14, 1500/2400) who was accepted on Saturday, to GrC. I feel really bad for ED kids who haven’t heard yet, I’ve been waiting for a week and it’s killing me, I can’t imagine waiting 2 months!!
@casa2274 I know they are very different fields, I’m just really indecisive and have settled on 3 majors (AMM, GrC, International Relations… really broad, I know! but I love each one equally lol)
Does anyone know anything about the liberal studies major? Acceptances? How hard it is to get into? :-S
Right now I would say it’s hard for anyone to get in who hasn’t already done so for first time freshman. Somebody prove me wrong!! =D>
It’s almost been a week since I’ve been accepted but I haven’t gotten the email. am I supposed to have it by now?
@flamin, the fact that you like all equally shows that you have not done enough research into the fields you are interested in. They are all very "different.’ Look at your chosen degrees on as many college websites, to see what you are in for.
@flaminhaute you’ll probably like CSULB better anyway. As someone upstream commented “CalPolySLO isn’t that fashionable”. If you don’t get in anywhere you like, think about taking 2 or 3 general design-y classes at a local CC, gaining some work experience then applying again ASAP a freshman (undeclared) for next year at some better schools. Find one you really like and apply EA.
could anyone help me out with this? I assumed cal poly pomona rejected me because when a lot of people got acceptances, my portal didn’t change. it shows my application info but next to it it just says “apply for admission”. I emailed the admissions office a while back and they said my application & all other necessary documents were received, so I’m good. But just now I got an email about the ElM & ETP placement tests, saying that I’m exempt from English & “conditionally exempt” from math as long as I pass AP stats this semester. So am I in? What’s the deal? (what’s with the cal polys and their weird acceptance processes, just tell me if i’m rejected or accepted please!!)
@maxy101: Did you plan to post in the Cal Poly SLO thread or the Pomona thread? BTW, the ELM/EPT emails are sent to all applicants and based on your reported test scores and HS courses.
@maxy101 welcome to the CSU system. Try calling in the morning.
Sigh. Just emailed them again but won’t expect a response for at least a month considering that’s how long it took the last time!! Pomona isn’t really that appealing to me though, so I’ll just wait it out.
