Accepted: SDSU, UCSD
Waiting: UCI, UCB, UCLA

I got a 1680 on my SAT 1. For my SAT 2 I got 560 Math, 520 Bio, and 600 US History. I’m an asian male and my stats are really low but I know I will get into a lot of good schools.

I got into UCSD and am waiting for UCI, UCLA, and UCB but I’m confident I’ll get into all three.

Update: Got into UCLA, UCI, and UCB. Berkeley gave me some sort of spring extension thing though. Excited to go to UCLA

A student’s highest evaluated GPA would be 4.5.

tnn how did you get into both berkeley and LA with those stats? what major?

tnn, I’m having trouble believing you… unless something MAJOR happened to you during high school that you’re not telling us about. Your tone just sounds cocky, not like someone who went through something tragic… no offense.

Those were his strengths.

Same here, I have trouble believing tnn. Hhow can you be confident with getting into UCB, UCLA, and UCI?

Boelter Hall: I dont think a huge AP courseload will help him that much. 4.1 weighted GPA and that is rank 3/78…My school has a lot of people with over 4.0 weighted

argh stop calling it UCB. It’s Cal or Berkeley.

i don’t understand the big deal about calling it UCB…

LOL relax buddy

WoW all of these stats who were rejected makes me shiver a bit…

yeah me too. i dont know, but it seems like ucla admitted people with low stats or high stats, but no one that had “middle of the road” stats. perhaps im wrong

I am sure that the school’s geological region played a significant factor. You won’t believe how many “points” are scored by this.

This is where the hollistic approach steps in.

However, I am more convinced that the unstated “overcoming obstacle” was a more significant push to his/her admission.

I’m so confused as to why UCLA was harder than UCB this year. I regret not applying to Berkeley.

I am assuming its because they over-accepted last year resulting in fewer spots this year.

Yeah, I dont know. But looks as if I won’t be going to California for college, which really sucks.

UCLA is going to hit an admit rate of 20-21% this year. Bank on it.

What was it last year?

Now if only 20 percent of the applicants accept admissions, doesn’t that make room for the people who are appealing, such as myself?

what are your top choices, BruinsJEW?

I got denied so whats it matter, lol.

1 was UCLA, #2 was UCSD, #3 is UVA(still yet to hear, im a special case so its still under review; at least one college cares)

Accepted: Umass amherst, uwash seattle, fsu, and ucf

UCI2011, Yes I did get into UCLA and Berkeley with those stats. I applied to both with Geology as my major but I’m gonna change that to biology once I get to UCLA. Honestly, nothing tragic or major happened to me, I just wrote about living in the ghetto and overcoming obstacles. My school did help a lot as I know several other people in my class with 1620’s that got into UCLA. And I’m not gonna lie about what I get into, thats a pretty dumb thing to lie about.
